You have a point in that it is basically Christianity saying that it's the oldest religion in circular fashion. **However**: Christian scripture is comprised of a constant referencing back to the Mosaical (or Jewish) age and the Patriarchal age. Some also see an age before that in Scripture too. And a lot of pre-Christian symbolism is unclear without the light of Christian revelation. If you can give me a concrete example of another religion that closely ties in to a previous form like Christianity does, and also makes it older than Christianity, then I plan on deleting this question. But if you will not or cannot, my claim stands.

I guess C? Although more specifically on this question it’s just not apparently true even if we were to allow that Christianity’s history should be extended with Judaism’s history. Judaism is dated to 9th centuries BC. This makes them pretty old, but certainly not the oldest in common practice. Hindu vedas go back to the 15th century BC, and Zoroastrianism to 10th century.

Adam and Moses are mythological characters, not real people. Christianity started sometime in the first century CE. The religions I mentioned are all hundreds of years older.

I forgot to mention Zoroastrianism, which is about 2000 years older than Christianity.

1. If anything, that title belongs to Hinduism.
2. I mean there was the Great Schism, which split the Catholic Church from the Eastern Orthodox. There are and were a lot of gods who died for humanity in various religions both in antiquity and today. Actually, of the mystery religions Christianity was one of the last to arise.
