I don't know about the Quran, but the Old testament of the Bible in the Book of Job implies the Earth is round and is in outer space "Hung on Nothing". the Greeks and Romans and Egyptians at the time thought the Earth was flat and floated on an endless sea of water.

the Book of Job was written in 1600BCE and it basically states that the Earth is round, and correctly describes hurricanes too. At that time, the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians all thought the Earth was flat and floated on an infinite sea of water.

Whoever wrote the Book of Revelation never read the Book of Job, because that person thought the Earth was flat and Square... proving the Book of Revelation is not inspired and infallible. Although the author of Revelation correctly surmised that a megastructure the size of the New Jerusalem needs to be made from synthetic Diamond. that was dead on correct, but could be a coincidence somehow.

The Bible does say that the Earth has pillars so that implies that it is flat but the Quran says that the Night and Day has been wrapped around the Earth (like a piece of cloth wrapped around a turban)(39:5).
