Honestly, I find it hard to believe that god exists.

Comparing our Galaxy to the universe we are little small atoms even the vast distances simple avg human's can't even understand. What makes you think that we are so holier compared to some other more noble advanced species. To be quite honest if god existed he would not even care about the human race because to be honest the human's present in the galactic time is nothing but a blink of an eye if not lesser. Oh 1 second there was a human race 3 seconds later of nope they died killed them selves off. If our self professed prophets where the right hand man of "God" I'm pretty sure they knew the secrets of the universe. Instead what did they do. They spoke of shit that holds little to no weight in gold. Did Mohamed give us penicillin "no". He gave us stones to stone our women to DEATH!

What's you logic that you can gather the existence of "GOD" and how he cares for us all... when he really does not exist or care what human's do on this planet. Don't feed me this soul crap and "how I feel" etc...

I just know it in my gut.

To me God's fingerprints are on everything... seeing the beauty, order, unimaginable complexity of life, the universe, mathematics, the order, so many advanced systems working on top of system on top of system.

Plus, as I say, my gut, my conscience just knows there is a God.

Lastly, purpose. Things have such specific purposes. People like to just flippantly shrug it off as "it just evolved that way" but to me the purpose things have is too specific, defined and needed to "just evolve... because".

Reproduction. Things die and need to reproduce or they die out. That is a specific issue. Ok, in most creatures the male and female come together with specific, highly specified organs to specifically create new offspring. To me that is too specific and so addresses this needed issue in life... to not die out as a species. It is just too specific and highly fine tuned to just shrug it off and say... we need to reproduce... so we evolved to reproduce.

Flight. Flying is too highly specific and needs so many factors to be in line in order to fly. A giraffe having a long neck kind of makes sense because the long neck comes at the very end. Creatures food supply is up high... those with naturally longer necks can reach the food and live... those with shorter necks die out. With only the longer necked creatures living and mating... neck length just grows longer over time.

The last step is getting super long necks.

With flight... flight comes first.
You need an aerodynamic shape, you need a highly specialized wing shape, you need aerodynamic feathers, you need hollow bones to reduce weight, you need a tail... etc.

All of things thing have to be already fully intact BEFORE you can fly. I makes no logical sense for all of these things to evolve... like in a giraffe's neck. Remove even one of those factors and birds cannot fly.

I don't believe in a singular god, i do however believe in spirits like us but currently not occupying a physical body who collectively worked to create the world and (mis) guide us if need be. I am so firm on this believe because i asked if i had such an Angel and got a response in a physical form that to me is beyond coincidence.

But since i had those believes i also had the fortune of experiencing telepathy with other people here on earth, so i know telepathy exists to and i know at least 2 people who are gifted in that sense. I tend to be good at feeling others, those 2 girls are great at projecting. So what seemed random at first we discovered was actually telepathy. For example if she fantasizes about touching me i might suddenly physically react as if i was being touched that way. We tried it during a voice call and i accurately could describe what she was thinking, and when she stopped the exact same second we both commented on the fact she had stopped. I can't do the reverse though, i can project the warmth of a hug to a loved one who is trying to feel it but that is about it.

So there is a lot more to this reality than you can sense with your human senses, things you may have even experienced without knowing. So especially with lovers if you suddenly get an overwhelming feeling ask them what your lover is thinking. Chances are your telepathically connected, as we didn't realize it either until i could pinpoint exactly what she was thinking.

Once you experience things that i am sure make me sound crazy when i say them, then you likely will believe its much more beyond what we are know is true. And the whole concept of entities creating this world is not so strange anymore.

There are many things that lead me to believe in God's existence
Science isn't one of them though. I don't think the existence or non existence of God can be proved with the scientific method simply because God exists outside of our world. God is not part of our universe he is outside of it. He created it. He is not some planet or entity flying around in space and that we can observe with a telescope.
. But one of the main (but not the only) reasons is that I believe in objective morality. So here's an example:

If God doesn't exist then morality doesn't exist and there is no wrong or right.

1) If you believe in subjective morality then that would mean that if incest is morally accepted in ancient egypt for example, then it's still a valid moral system because it is culturally accepted in that society.

2) If you're a nihilist then you don't believe in Morality and incest is technically not morally wrong.
I mean, I think honest atheists are nihilists.
All the other atheists are larpers. They will start to bring other arguments to justify that incest is wrong (utilitarianism, natural philosophy etc). A common counter argument they use is: incest is wrong because it produces deformed babies. Ok, fine. But what if it's incest between a menopausal mother and her adult son? Or 2 brothers?
It should be ok as long as they're both happy and consenting? Nah.

3) I believe that wrong and right exist.. therefore morality exists. And objective morality is what God determines to be valid or invalid (sin).

Upvoted this because I think you're correct about most of what you said. I'm an atheist myself, but I think that if you reject a moral code sourced from divine being, it becomes very difficult to justify morality in general. Utilitarianism and other forms of ethical naturalism are bankrupt, and really just depends on re-defining words like "pleasure" or "happiness" to mean "good".

I'm a philosophy student with an interest in ethics, so a lot of my work and study revolves around finding justifications for moral conduct that don't rely on either naturalism, or divine origins. I'm inclined towards certain forms of deontological ethics. I find Kant pretty flawed but he's my favorite.

So I'm personally a Christian okay, so in my opinion God exists to save us from eternal damnation for the rest of our lives.. people have a right to believe in what they want to though, I don't attempt to preach to anybody, I just believe in what I believe.. To think of God as something or someone that exists is to miss the point entirely. Gods in the polytheism are personifications of the natural phenomena, of the concepts and ideas. Zeus is the force of nature, Loki is mischief, Aphrodite is love, Ra is the sun and order etc.
One God of the Abrahamic religions IS the existence itself. Think of him as the way to conceptualize the answer for the greatest question of them all: Why is there something instead of nothing?
If it sounds ridiculous, that's only because modern man is so entrenched in the so called scientific view of the world that has to define and identify everything, that he forgot to think metaphorically. We neurotically deny things that cannot be explained yet (just like entire scientific community denied the existence of UFO's until very recently). We as a species are simply not evolved enough to comprehend and perceive the mysteries of this universe, relying on metaphors is the only way to express what cannot be expressed

Well I personally dont see his/its/their existence as all that important to my faith, but if I were to attempt to provide a theory it would be that he/it/they are a fourth dimensional being. From my understanding of scientific literature that could account for much of the 'divine events' spoken about in the bible (although I interpret them as stories). Additionally from my understanding it would theoretically mean that he/it/they could 'read/affect' human thoughts and emotions. As to your point about god not caring because we live so shortly, I think that makes it much more interesting. Assuming my theory is correct earth would essentially be a 'massive' terrarium not all that different from humans keeping an ant colony. Just something to keep busy and entertained by as you watch these 'simple' creatures make and do things you could never imagined because of their supposed simplicity.

I don't. God is a contradiction to itself if it wants to be necessary. There are various holes in the idea. If god is infinite, that means infinity is real and if infinity is real, there is nothing unique or necessary for reality about god. If god can come into being without being caused, that means it is possible for ex nihilo apparition and that also obviates god. So in order for god to remain relevant under these conditions, it would need to actually be these conditions but these conditions have no requirement to be or to use god, so god becomes completely unnecessary, unlikely and contingent on other things and something contingent can't be a first cause by definition. The other thing going against the concept of god is that things like infinity and ex nihilo apparition are also imaginary concepts but require less mental gymnastics to justify being a fundamental part of reality since they are simpler.

God isn’t a magical being. God is society; it is all knowing, all judging, and all powerful. There was no way for ancient people to recognize this phenomenon as anything other than magic so they defined it as deity. They set up moral frameworks they saw creating better lives for everyone and warned people what would happen if they didn’t follow these guidelines. It isn’t a matter of believing in a higher power it’s a matter of understanding the intent.
