Here John the Baptist was talking to the Pharisees and Sadducees that he saw coming to him for baptism. He knewthat these were hypocritical and self-righteous, hence his warningto them. The "wheat" is the kind of people God approves because they listen to Him and are loyal and true. The "chaff" is those who are not approved by God because they are hypocritical like the Pharisees and Sadducees were known to be.

The good and bad, the believer and disbeliever, the worker and the grifter etc etc.
Basically just as in wheat production there is goodness and for it's production there is waste and there are "reusables". God is only interested in the good, it doesn't matter about the rest.

The wheat and chaff grow together in the field. The chaff cannot be split up from the wheat while it’s growing or it will destroy the wheat in the process. Once the wheat is ready for harvest, the wheat is plucked along with the chaff and the wheat is then split using a sharp tool from the chaff and it’s thrown out. The principle is that fake Christians will be put alongside true Christians and when harvest time comes (we don’t know when because Jesus is the farmer in this parable) that is when true believers are separated from fake believers.
It’s actually a scarier parable because Jesús explicitly says there is going to be more chaff than wheat on the day of judgement.
Wheat symbolizes good people and the chaff symbolizes evil. Wheat is harvested (saved) and chaff is binded and then burned. My take was that like many sayings in the bible it’s multi-contextual so , in this case, can be anything to do with discernment/good judgement. Telling truth from falsehoods, quality work from poor quality work, useful vs useless information, etc.
The truth and lies.
Good character and evil character.
Good nature and cruelty.who are considered chaff are those who are corrupt and unfruitful in their labors
it will be the separation of the righteous and the wicked that Christ will make at the end of time
Can you explain to me what that is because I didn’t go to school and I am uneducated?
