My religious/spirituality has been a path. I was raised by my mother, who was raised by Methodists, but herself moved between churches until she found 7th Day Adventist as her best fit. Being surrounded by monotheists who confirmed the existence as a child, I never even thought to question the existence of "God", and it was just as real to me as Santa Claus. I only questioned the nature of God, was it like us? A human? A man, or a woman? I talked to God extensively on long walks.

When I got older and went to college (you know, where ignorant people believe minds are poisoned with knowledge), I found out more about the different belief systems of the world. That Hindus and Muslims had comparable numbers of believers to Christianity, but entirely different beliefs about the very nature of reality. And that there were even more philosophies and religions yet. The interesting thing about all of them is that none of them can be proven or disproven. They are all valid working theories, all possible given what we knew about reality. This was totally wild to me, and as I wrapped my mind around the information, I became agnostic. Well, truth be told, at first I became atheist, then I realized that atheism was a similar belief to Christianity or Satanism, in that it held something to be true that was not provable/disprovable. It was just the belief that religions were all wrong, and my belief was that I didn't and couldn't really know. I think my atheism was a backlash from feeling betrayed about religion.

As I progressed to gain more information and experience, including experience with psychedelics, I began to feel that there is something significant in the mutable nature of reality and perspective. Being exposed to my own mind working in a fantastic way that altered my perception of reality, was life changing. What we choose in our lives is a very powerful force and can make the difference between being happy or miserable. To that end, I have many thoughts that are in alignment with the philosophy of Buddhism, especially in the approach it has to the illusions of reality.

I remain agnostic, as I believe it is arrogant and ignorant to think that we are wise and intelligent enough to comprehend more than a very insignificant amount of the information around us. We are like bacteria floating in a pond, with only a faint glimmer of understanding.

    https://www.youtube.com/embed/8Are9dDbW24

Here's an interesting graphic on world religions throughout history, (I recommend watching on 2X speed):

    https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q-icxn8asI8

And one more. I especially like this last one, because you can see how religion isn't just some objective truth about what is right, it spreads like an infection as people share ideas with each other, it is just an idea that is passed from one person to the next. So Christianity got spread more when it went to the Americas, Oceania, Micronesia, etc, by people who had guns and more advanced technology, so their religion and ideas took over the native folk religions.

I appreciate sharing your journey with us in such great detail. I loved the way you explained your beliefs and how you get it.
The only thing I will disagree with you about is that religion is not theories, may be some religions (or precisely faiths) could be just theories that people invented, but religion is a way of life from our lord who created us that he sent messengers with his words to teach us what to do and what not to do and what’s right and what is wrong. And it is never about numbers 🤷 most people are just following what others around them do, but religion is about knowledge: meaning you need to read it’s book and ask questions and try to find it in the book and ask scholars of that religion or read their ancient books to get more clarification.
I myself am a Muslim al hamdulillaah, I was born in so called Islamic country (which is literally far from following islam as most called islamic countries 🤷) but I didn’t really understand islam properly until I started struggling and wondering about what’s going on in the world especially what’s happening against Muslims where everyone is turning blind eye on that and being blinded by wrong information spread on all types of mass media. So, I kept searching, asking, thinking and searching and reading a lot and analyzing the information i find which on is right …. After that only I found the real religion is Islam al hamdulillaah.
If you keep following what the majority do or following you wouldn’t be able to find the truth. Only by searching and analyzing what’s with and what’s against that through deeply looking into each sides proofs and evidence, that’s the only way to find the way. And most importantly is what’s in your heart: if your heart filled with finding the truth you’ll get it one day, but if it is filled with following what others or the majority follow then you won’t be able to find the way. The goal in your heart is the most important for your guidance despite what others say or do.

My religion is I believe in a higher power I believe that we are all here to experience Something Beautiful many people didn't get the memo so they decided to create something worse human drama pointing fingers I'll caught it up and everything except for what they were supposed to be caught up in and that is to experience the Beautiful like that we can all have on this planet together
I said it a million times when we were born we were all given a gift that gift is choice we get to choose who we want to be by the things that we say and do.
It is also my choice to either follow or lead I'm sure not going to follow

Following somebody it's like following somebody that is lost because they were following somebody that was lost and so on and so on

Experiencing life and choosing who you want to be in this one take all the beautiful things that you believe in get rid of all all the drama people try to suck you into or get we make a choice to get caught up into it because we believe in something but nobody wants to hear you so you you walk away

My religion tells me everything is connected everything on this planet even the planet has energy running through it around it all the way around it we walk through energy all day long because it's to put above the Earth ground all the way around protons electrons atoms we are also made of energy we are more connected than we ever thought we're so caught up in the human aspect and human drama I think we forgot everything we came here for
    I think someone
My religion is to help anybody everybody that needs help to try to shine your light so we can see where they're going if you are in darkness you can't see negative is Darkness positive is the light we are all alike we are all energy
My religious belief help people see the light help people become the light be happy in this beautiful beautiful beautiful place we Earth
We Are All One when somebody's hungry feed them because that is part of us on both sides if somebody is down and out to help them because we are all one if somebody needs a helping hand pull them up because we are all one try to teach people that everything that you feel in life has nothing to do with anything you can either make that feeling that Happy Feeling all right. That feeling it's your choice right then and there you either hold onto it or you let it go you either become it or you let it go if you hold on to it you miss out a living life when you're collecting things that hold you back but some of us are here to experience that I guess I've done my fair share I look at this planet and the people on it and I shake my head WTF I watch greedy greedy people they're so happy because they take from other people and they call that happiness or meet you happy and happiness is not having anyting except for knowledge because you can take that with you energy Never Dies so
Now if you can understand what I've just said congratulations you're probably pretty happy person if you can't it's not meant for you no matter what you believe in no matter who you have chosen to be if you do not help somebody up if your eyes if your smile not speak to somebody as you pass them by if you're caught up in drama you're not experiencing life we are on this planet to experience life a beautiful life and peace we were kind of giving the rules of life we were given morals values and ethics you are given a choice you can be anybody that you want to be if you're going to follow follow your religious belief and hope that is the truth because my religious belief is who I am from day one to this day that's my belief my religious belief is who I chose to be and what I chose to say and what I chose to do it's either positive or negative we were all given the choice to believe in anything we want to but you have to believe in yourself before you completed anyting probably just a bunch of mumbo jumbo but that's my choice
    My religious belief
    Maybe God has a creator
    Maybe we are God's children

Without water we would not be here maybe the same thing with God without water nothing grows nothing lives we live 9 months and water before you're going it is the key to life water is a miracle water holds memory that's pretty bold statement when God created the Earth and then he got the water from heaven I believe every time you drink a glass of water you are drinking life because water postmemory it remembers God we are baptized in water when you drink water you drink something that knows every single one of us on this planet that's pretty powerful so take all the above that I've said and you put it together so whatever you do you need to start leading and if you like to argue bitch bark Bite. Let It Go
If you hold on to something negative from the past did you have no part of did you we're not even born either accept it or hold on to it but anything you hold onto it's going to hold you back from experiencing life your religion your choice

I believe in the christian God but just not that He is sending everyone to hell save a handful as many orthodox churches try to convince you.

It is funny when I come on these type of questions because half of the comments I can't see as the religious zealots have all blocked me... lol

I don't hide what I believe while many christian fanatics watch porn and do all kinds of things behind everyone's back and then condemn you for doing the same things. It can be very sad :(

As Christians we are suppose to love and support each other... aren't we? ... just asking

    What is your religious belief?

I'm born in Islam Family and officially I'm Muslim now only. But my religious belief is not at all related to Islam. I don't believe in any religion but only in the power which created the world. The power maybe scientific or spiritual but it's a power nonetheless and I believe in that.

You’re totally free to choose whatever you want. But do not call yourself that you were a Muslim while you never even tried to understand Islam.
Plus, if people around you didn’t treat you good do not blame it on a religion you don’t know. What people do doesn’t mean it is from Islam, as well Islam doesn’t come to give us permission to do everything we desire for but it comes to teach us the best way to live our life and how to control our desires to what’s good for us and everyone around us and to take responsibility of our actions as well to learn how to find the truth and to only follow the truth not to follow people or trends.

@huzail Al hamdulillaah that you find the peace that only people with clean heart will find once they truly submit themselves to Allaah the almighty.
Allaah the almighty guides only those who want really guidance.
And whatever we find in life is reflections of what really inside our heart. Al hamdulillaah for the bounty of Islam and al hamdulillaah for his guidance and blessings. ❤️

@willyppah Okay I just wanted to specify that I was born into an Islam family. And it is few of the rules in this religion which ruined my family. It's a male dominated religion. I don't have any problems with people following it and I respect it too.

      @Apulu_3
You’re biggest problem is that you don’t want to learn this religion and you just hate it with no absolute knowledge about it.
And what you’re saying “few of the rules in it” how did you know that’s real rules in islam or it’s just culture issues your family believes in?
Just be honest to yourself that you don’t like Islam because you want to follow your desires and that you absolutely do not know anything about Islam but you just don’t like it according to what you see on social media.
As long as you don’t want to learn it properly, you’ll be just lying to yourself by trying to find reasons and excuses to hate it. At least be honest to yourself and don’t blame Islam for something you don’t even understand, just say you hate islam according to what media shows. No one is going to force you to follow Islam so please don’t keep blaming Islam while you don’t know anything about it. Thank you.

I'm not lying myself. I know very well what is true and what isn't. I don't even have any other social media rather than this. And you don't know anything about my life so stop coming in conclusion. You don't know what happened. I am not even calling myself a Muslim. If I could then I would have changed it officially long time ago. There is this rule in Islam that if women don't wear burqas then evil will haunt them. Do you think it is true? If it is then is more than half of the world evil? If so then why do people really on Doctors, Engineers who don't wear burqas? There are many such non sensical rules in Islam. I clearly stated in my opinion that my belief is different from Islam but officially I'm one due to family.

Mine is pretty unique so feel free to ask me anything about it.

On an energy level i'd define god as the point of origin, the source of all good in the world. Evil has no direct origin, instead its people choosing to do the wrong thing on purpose that brought that into being.

But then you have the level i philosophise about most, which is on a more soul/earth level. I believe our kind is the creator of this reality. Collectively created as a learning experience where people of different personalities and levels of good and evil can interact in a more confined manner. After our lifetime we go back to the reality beyond this one, and the reality beyond that one i can't imagine. But i do believe our choice to be in a physical body was voluntary and that we had a say in what kind of experience we want.

But outside of our physical world are souls ensuring our experience goes well. Some would call them gods, others angels. Mine described herself as a "Co-pilot High Up". They seemingly have the power to manipulate chance but are very much laid back in interfering since its up to us to experience our life and the effects on the world we collectively created.

And our instinct to create experiences and worlds very much remains. You create dream worlds in your sleep, although of a lesser fidelity. But we also create worlds by physical means in art, movies, stories and games. We are actively as a species trying to build virtual worlds to life in once again. So to me its logical we already did.

As for morals and stuff i think everyone should be who they truly are. I have steps for that in my old but mostly accurate journey to the real you mytake. Your not supposed to blindly follow, and they won't give evidence that people would blindly follow. But if your ready and ask for evidence that could but is not likely to happen and they perform a miracle for you then you know there is something to it.

I was raised Catholic by a converted Babtist mom who left it up to me. I had a Jewish friend and a Native American with whom I went to calibrations with on occasions. Its made me a very independent thinker and question everything. I reject most all religions as they are man made and used to control people. Native Americans and Buddhist are not religions and are a way of life. I do feel there must be some sort of a "creator" How else do we explain things such as our solar system and our planet being in perfect position not too cold not too hot and not collide. It just makes me think deeply there must be something!

I’ve been exposed to many religions meeting Shias Sunnis Sikhs Christian’s of all sorts Jews Sufis Hindus Vishnus Jains Buddhist from many different traditions.

I was raised in a black Catholic Church, nestled safely away from the world in the woods within walking distance to Lake Washington.

I would say my closest “religious” beliefs are to American Freemasonry, just because I think that’s what has influenced my world view the most. I don’t dwell on metaphysics and just try to be a good person by my own conscience.

I was raised Catholic but went on to study the history or Christianity and Judaism, world religions, mythology, ancient history, cultural anthropology and some philosophy.

I am no longer religious and doubt if there are gods or an afterlife. I don't think anything is watching over humanity. From a religious point of view, I guess that makes me agnostic.

I have my own spiritual beliefs that include awe, wonder, respect and gratitude for all creation and for my ability to perceive it.

Each set of religious beliefs holds but a PIECE of the greater truth...

the metaphor I was taught is:
"Three blind wise men happened upon an elephant...
the first encountered its trunk an proclaimed: "It is much like a sake!"
the second happened upon its ear and proclaimed: "No! Its much like a large leaf!"
and the last happened upon its tail, "No! its is more like a fuzzy rope..."
    ,
And, within the scope of each's SUBJECTIVE perception, EACH spoke truthfully...
but what the elephant TRULY was, ... was FAR greater!"

SPEAK the truth fom YOUR experience, but be humble enough to ACCEPT there exists FAR more---

I'm mostly atheist, however I like to keep an open mind. They only thing I'm sure of is that nobody really knows wtf is actually going on, we're all just insignificant ants floating on a spec of dust in an ocean of nothing. May as well enjoy the time we are here and try to help others out as well.
Part of me likes to consider the idea that we're all living in the Matrix tho, lol.

Christian, mainly because only God can judge and it's the only religion out of the three Abrahamic ones that supports social freedom (at least in today's world). Jews and Muslims have a lot of restrictions according to their books and churches. (I don't have anything against J&M)

We all have a religion as all are Intelligently Designed to worship.. Some worship Self, creature rather than Creator (Environmentalism, Buddhism, Secular Humanism (Self), Sex-Sexual Expressions, Islam, Hinduism etc).
-We all seek something greater than ourselves…to self-preserve, Eternally. I hold to Jesus the Christ is the only Saving means to God and a Living Eternality.

Belief is trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.

When it comes to religion, it’s all about faith. Hoping that what you are told will be true.
Having trust and confidence in an unverifiable thing. Which in any other situation would be insane.

If I jump off a sky scraper and trust that I will fly, confidence will allow me to jump, faith can give me hope as I fall, but the facts rest in science, I will splat on the ground below.

The science of the human existence is that we exist as signals from neurons transforming and relaying the electrical signals in the brain.
When our heart stops beating, our blood stops pumping, we stop existing. This does not require faith or belief. It is fundamental science.

Who are we? How are we functioning?
A person who has just died still has blood in their body and has hearts and all organs, so why science doesn’t explain why the person dies?
Science believes in only materials (seen and touchy things). And scientifically a dead body is just like live body they have everything the same, but why the dead one dead? What does make the body live or dead? What makes the heart beats and the blood moves around the entire body and what makes them stop? (And we’re talking about natural death here , people who their heart just stopped all of sudden or while they’re sleeping)
Why they can’t move like alive people even if they have blood and all organs working perfectly?
The answer is “the soul”: the soul is what science will never explain, it is what makes us breath and makes our hearts beats and our blood moves around all our body, once our soul gets out of body nothing can make out body alive again, because the soul is by the order of Allaah the almighty (the creator).

@willyppah Most of that ramble was incoherent rambling, but...
Science does and can explain why people die.
The brain is the only thing that males us who we are, and when the blood stops flowing we stop existing.
The difference between a living body and a dead body is the literal flowing blood keeping all the organs working and a dead body has solidified blood, the organs have stopped, and the brain is literally no longer functioning.

The soul can’t be explained by science because it is a fictional idea made by ideologues who need to believe in something. Just like science can’t explain why Spiderman has spidey senses.

Suggesting that a magical entity wills us into existence is hilarious. Once the blood stops flowing we can’t live again. If you want to call that a “soul” go ahead.
I myself will listen to science over the insane ramblings of an illiterate pedophile merchant warlord.

You are literally just repeating yourself because your science can never explain life and existence. Because life is from the creator and he is the only one who has clear explanation about it.
You’re just stuck in the idea that the blood stops then life ends but you would never explain why the blood stops with your science because it can never detect the soul which is the main part of our life and our existence.
Also, there’s never anything that exists by itself, there should be always a creator for something to exist and that’s something proven by your science but you don’t want to declare this truth because you don’t want to believe in the truth and you deny all the evidence and the facts of existence of a creator. If your science is truly right about not believing in the creator who created everything why your wonderful scientists never be able to create a fly which they know all it’s components?
Simply because they can’t make soul that makes a creature alive as well they don’t have any control over mixing up these components and giving it a shape of a fly!
But you’re free to keep denying all the actual and clear truth and facts for your desires and what you are hardly trying to make yourself believe in delusionally .

@willyppah When I repeat myself it’s because truth doesn’t change.
Making up an answer like religion does and then telling people they can’t ask questions is not an answer. Especially in Islam where asking questions will met with death.

Your circular reasoning is foolish. “Who created life? God. How do You know? Cause I am told god says so”
Is like saying who created life? I magic teapot. How do you know? I am told that the magic teapot says so.
There is zero explanation or reasoning.

Blood stops because the heart stops beating. The heart stops beating because organs are made of cells and eventually weaken and stop functioning.
*That is an explanation, not just a “because god” answer.

Your creator would break your creator rule because it would need a creator. So that is another circular argument.
There is no evidence and definitely no facts of your creator, just circular reasoning. Simply saying there is, is not evidence. There are thousands of “gods” throughout human legend, You only believe the one you were indoctrinated into as a child. Ironic how that is the only “real” one to you.

Our scientist are the ones who have made it so you can live past 30 and are not dying of basic germs like back a couple hundred years ago. Science is the evolving discovery of how things are and with every discovery the god goal post moves because we learn why it isn’t god.

I am not the delusional one here bud.

I am a Christian born and raised. I believe God is good and that we should live in his example. He is the one that put us here, is that not enough for us to appreciate him, respect him, and worship him?

    I believe in GOD.
I believe GOD Is The Creator of the universe.
I believe GOD Is The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
I believe all people need is to obey the Ten Commandments.
I don't believe in religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Shintoism, etc. and all the bullshit branches of those religions.
    Just keep it simple.

That's a lot lol but at its simplest, it's an occultic religion that focuses on one's own spiritual journey. We have our own gods and goddesses, like my matron Babalon and Nuit. But we also allow for other gods and goddesses if we wish, like my patron Sobek. You can also be atheist and just adhere to the tenets as a moral guideline.

My ancestry, their culture and my experience with Odin. I always had a pull towards them, and even though I am also celtic, I still feel a connection to the all father.

My great grandma was Catholic, so her god was mine for a little while, but every time I prayed etc I felt like no one was there. Felt ignored. But then the week both my dog and cat passed away, the all father was right there, showing my signs in seconds that my dog and cat were going to be fine.

My dog, she passed on tyrs day, which is Tuesday... And they my cat funnily enough passed on Freyjas day. That brought me peace tbh.

Thank you. Being norse pagan is spiritual, free. Our gods don't want us to fear them, we are seen as their equals, friends, but we still respect them and honor them. Their old ways were brutal, but they no longer require blood sacrifices. Sometimes our own blood is enough, but I'm not into seiðr. Not that much anyway.

Our relationships with them tend to vary on the deity in question and their personal beliefs. Sobek for example, does require blood sacrifice and occasionally animal as well. Babalon requires more emotion like passion or acts like the working. It depends but respect is always a must.

This is first time you defined it, thank you. So, I spent years in Thailand and Cambodia which are Buddhist nations.
Karma is not an outcome of action. Karma is getting what one deserves and from those actions affect quality, state, or standing in your next life into Eternality. It is cyclical and never-ending.
-Plenty of “not good” actions go with “getting what one deserves” in this world.
-I think you are confusing law of physics:every physical action has an immediate and opposite reaction. OR
      -confusing judicial law with spirituality.
Golden Rule: do unto others and like To have done to you, although, it is not reliable. See Putin/Hitler and Ukraine.

Not in this world. Evil (not good) gets rewarded which is not Karma. Karma , according to the Monks and Temple teachers that I knew in Buddhist Nation, is getting what one deserves.
—It is not applicable to this world according to Buddhist teachers pointing to governmental corruption and Gains within SE Asia.
-Spiritually somehow, Buddha or Something, determines what was bad in this world…even what we got rewarded for on earth…somehow by Something…your Outcome is at lesser position in the next life. From human to dog because of good and not good earthly record. This is your created “self-preservation”…where you are cyclically analyzed and reborn Eternally. Demoted to dog to get back to human for following life.. DONT piss on Trees, owner’s legs, rat cats, chase Canadians (geese) 🤷🏻‍♂️. Best.
