I don't talk about music in general, I talk about rock, anyone can see that rock creates an inner turmoil. For example, you will never see a monk or a nun listening to rock music, because they know that is not the best way to be close to God.

Did you know there is an entire genre of Christian Rock wherein God is actually in music?

Having God in the lyrics doesn't mean that kind of music takes you to God. God is in silence. In the scriptures when Jesus wants to have a greater contact with the Father, he goes to the mountain to pray (place of silence). Elijah only found God in the gentle breeze and not in the earthquakes. The moments where God speaks most are those of silence and recollection.

there are different types of "rock music" and while I agree that some of it feels like it's chasing God out from your presence, there are some rock songs that leave me feeling pretty good and spiritual.
