It is, by and large, how we got here, but whether it's the way forward? Well, forward to WHAT, exactly? Evolution isn't progress towards a goal; it's progress away from a starting point. We're no more and no less "evolved" than a horseshoe crab, which has essentially not changed at all since the time before trees. All natural selection does it produces living things that thrive in a specific environment; well enough to endure and propagate, not so well that they consume all available food and starve.

That doesn't seem like a good long-term goal to me.

Doesn't Darwin believe that changes in nature are always taking place naturally? and isn't his test to that effect being that what ever change that takes place must be able to reproduce itself in order to be possible next step in evolution? If in fact the change can not reproduce itself then it will die off and as part of natures course.
With this said if you put anything but heterosexual people, both male and female to this test they will eventually die off since they can not reproduce themselves if they can reproduce at all.

I 'believe' in Darwinism the same way I 'believe' in gravity. Darwinism happens. Creatures change to their surroundings by mating/survival pressures.

Though in the case of modern humans, we don't really select partners by any specific criteria, and we've mastered our environment well enough that there are no selection/survival factors influencing our evolution at this point.

At best, Darwinism is a process. It is not a basis for creation of man as something can neither self-create or self-start. Resting Mass (something), Resting Motion, and Resting Energy can NOT Self-create or Self-start.

It's hard to say.
On the one hand, there are a lot of posthumous Darwin Award winners (anti-vaxxers, gun nuts and other assorted dumbasses) removing themselves from the gene pool.
On the other hand, it's these same dumbasses (and religious nutjobs) who tend to have very large numbers of children.

Not into that whole social darwinism thing. Evolution by natural selection is a fact. It doesn’t however tell us how we should act. Nature is not great.

We can cure disease and improve the quality of life for people in a much shorter time span than whatever social darwinism could do. We don’t need to get rid of anyone.
