Why don’t Christians dress like Mary anymore?

Mary is depicted in the utmost modesty and with such simplicity in her guise so why is it that these days Christians dress in tight clothes and show skin? Why don’t Catholics wear long loose dresses like Mary and cover their hair? The Muslims still do it to this day so why is Christianity so flexible? Tate calls it an absolute joke. If an ideology isn’t rigid it looks like a joke.

Even many Orthodox Jews and some Orthodox Christians cover themselves like that with proper modesty like Saudi women but Protestants and Catholics go to church in mini skirts and have sex before marriage like it is normal forgetting it is a mortal sin.

Please share your views on this matter. I think that Catholics should strive to be like Mary in everyway including in one’s guise.

I feel more comfortable in pants or shorts than a skirt or dress. Just as simple as that. And the few times i do dressup, its in a tight little mini which i actually wore to church a few times if im being honest. The preacher didn't like it but his grandson, nephew and son did 👀

There's no way to objectively prove that God even favors monogamy much less marriage. I believe in an Almighty Creator God, but real world examples show around 75% of first marriages end In divorce and second marriages have even less success.

How can you decide to spend the rest of your life with one person without first having sex with them several times? You wouldn't buy the wedding dress without trying it on first, so why do you buy the husband (or vice versa) without trying them a few times?

By the way, most of the stories in the new testament including Jesus sparing the adulteress, they have little or no basis in anything that is provable or even remotely verifiable. IN fact the story of Jesus sparin the adulteress wasn't added to the Gospel until around a hundred years after the fact.

There are contradictory stories about how Jesus ended up in Egypt and when exactly that happened from one gospel to the next.

There's no evidence marry was anything other than a bad little girl who had sex with her betrothed husband ahead of time and they left the country to evade punishment for heresy and fornication.

There's no evidence that the Massacre of the Innocents ever happened so one Gospels account of why and how Jessu went to Egypt is a complete fabrication. If the massacre of the innocents had happened, someone besides just the Bible authors would have written about it.

If 500 people allegedly saw Jesus rise from the dead and ascend to Heaven, why did only one person write about that, and only several decades after the alleged event?

If you actually saw an alleged miracle that ridiculous and supposedly marvelous, you'd have written it o every scrap of paper and scrolls and every brick you ever encountered for the rest of your life.

The word modest means not drawing attention to yourself. Wearing a full hijab with nothing but eyes showing is only going to accomplish the opposite of that. That said, I know Mary did not wear a full hijab but the concept still stands. If Jesus were on the earth in human form today, I don't think you would expect him to be in the same dress and sandals that he wore 2000 years ago. In the same way, it is not logical to think that women should be dressing in the same way as 2000 years ago.

Also while I do agree that many people who claim to be Christians act like a common hoe, which is wrong. But Andrew Tate, who you referenced, is a common hoe as well and you are not going to get any spiritual enlightenment by listening to him.

That's a good question. I think it has a lot to do with fashion trend changing over time and how clothing is promoted in the west. If you look in the 60s, men and women use to dress very mosdestly and even in the victorian days. Now clothing cheap flashy clothing is pushed in the media. People are more concerned about looking sexy than modest. I think one can still dress modest and still look cute/sexy.

Yes I dress in a full black robe and cover my hair basically like a nun but not a habit just a scarf otherwise people will start asking me if I am a nun.
