If Christians and Muslims fought for control of Jerusalem (the Holy Land) for hundreds of years, why is it now a Jewish nation?

This land was given to the Jews by God thousands of years ago. They got it back in 1948 as a country, and Muslims have been fighting them for the land ever since. Israel has won every war against them, even against overwhelming forces. The Jews are God's chosen people. When you have God on your side you can't lose. On a side note. The only reason the United States is doing well is because it is a haven for the Jew and it supports Israel. Every Arab nation hates the Jews and have been trying to destroy them for ever.

If the land was "given" to anyone, it was the ancestors of the modern Palestinians; it was TAKEN by the Jews (well, the Hebrews; Judaism didn't really enter into its modern form until Joshua) in a series of horribly bloody wars, using laws of conquest that even that even the NAZIS would've called excessive.

It's also very silly that you claim divine support makes you invincible; I think the Assyrians, Babylonians, Romans, Turks, and British are all supposed to be LESS powerful than God, yet each of them managed to conquer Israel. The original jews who were slaves in Egypt you read in the old testament were God's people and their descendants like David, Ruth, Mary, Peter and John etc.

These so called current Jews aren't God's people but rather descendants of Europeans who converted to Judaism which is a dead religion, nevertheless, it doesn't matter because the Bible teaches in 1 John he who doesn't have the Son (Jesus) doesn't have the Father neither.

Moreover, those people in that country Israel don't believe nor have the God of the Bible as their God, in fact around 67% of them are atheists or agnostics.

Two crusades to conquer Jerusalem were organized to get rid of knights who couldn't inherent any fiefs. It was practically slaughtering of nobility surplus.
For Christian is Jerusalem not really that important. Much bigger and more brutal were Crusades organized by catholic church to convert pagans around Baltic sea. Those crusades were successful too.

It was always a jewish/christian/muslim country.
Every one of these three big religion has thousand year old history in Jerusalem.

It escalated after the WWII and the Holocaust ended, and the allied forces decided to create a new state just for jewish people so they got a country where they weren't persecuted. But there were aleady christian and muslims and atheist and all sorts of people living there and they weren't happy. This is as simple as it gets.

Because of anti-Semitism. Jewish people in Europe started looking back to the Holy Land as their home (since it was their ancestral homeland). It became a state shortly after WWII. If you know anything about WWII, take a guess at why Jews wanted their own nation. The efforts by the UN to reach a compromise between Arab Palestinians and Jewish Israelis failed, so Israel took things into their own hands and established their own state.
