What makes someone a good Christian? What, to your mind, is the standard of good Christian behavior?

It's a lot more simple this way, a Christian is a beliver of God, a beliver is not a random Christian who says be good, don't do that or this but rather someone who knows he is not of the world, he isn't to blend with the world, a good Christian follow the path of his leader jesus christ, who neither fell into the world nor joined the crowd to do worldly things.

A good Christian study the word of God as he he needs his spirit man to grow, the Bible is the word of God the food the spirit man eats just as ur body eats, so if u haven't been studying the Bible imagine how weak and hungry your spirit man is,

How to be a good Christian

Seek salvation

Depart from the world the wolrd is sin, the soil is sinful that's why our body loves sin... Because it came from this soil of the earth a simple proof thanks to science for unbelievers who want to fight this, do u know when u sleep and wake up u always find a little amount of sand stones on ur bed.

You don't have to leave your old friends they will leave you themselves if they can't join you to change, then you will know who your true friends are,

A tru friend is a good friend, if your friend is bad and your good and they can't change to good for you, then know that's a bad friend, be patient with them as well it could take them years to change, learn the bible and pray for peace and patience.

When you follow God a lot of things will remove from your behaviour, you would be seen as an old boring man that has too much boring knowledge to give the youth, that is what it is like to be a good Christian, if you haven't been this way then your not yet a good Christian.

Doing things like not cursing, not being wicked, or stealing doesn't mean your doing the right things... If your don't praise our Father don't you know ur in the wrong already?

I always thought that being a good Christian meant to be a good person... to forgive, to be kind, to be considerate and respectful and all that

but I have realized over time, and that has been confirmed here at G@G even more so... many people have different ideas about what that means, a lot of Christians in here are full of hatred, resentment and bitterness... especially for those who are different than them, and they do feel more than justified to be such bad people and harbor such bad feelings, basically the way they see it is like this "it is okay for me to be full of hate and discord as long as I recognize Christ as my savior he will save me and condemn you, just like a condemn you"

either way, these "extreme Christians" are a minority... most Christians I know, everywhere and anywhere... they are just genuinely kind people and some of them are great people in many ways, and also in very "simple" ways, they're just kind, considerate and understanding of themselves as well as others

A good Christian prays and practices what is preached by the Church. They don’t judge their neighbours and goes to Church every Sunday to hear mass and lead by example. They have strong faith in the Lord and ask Him for guidance and strength and praise for all the blessings. Generally, being a good person who will love and forgive their enemies as Jesus Christ loves them.

Depends. A good Christian adheres to the bibles teachings instead of making shit up to fit their own ideas or cherrypicking things. But there's a difference between being a good person, being a good Christian and being a decent person and observing the religion.

As far as my knowledge in the bible there no good Christian living on the planet. They’re pretending and doing cruel things thinking they’re good Christian’s. No one is living for Christ. They have credit cards, life, families, lovers, passions, goals, Jesus not their only goal. If I provoke enough a good Christian’s, he’ll forget he is a good Christian. The teachings of Jesus no one follow. Everyone follows what they want to follow. Sex is sin. How many good Christian’s are having one sexual partner in their whole life? Jesus died without having sex at all. Can anyone thinks practicing that at least? No. If you read history Christian’s are the ones that did cruel things in all the centuries thinking they’re right. Well Jesus never encouraged for wars or pushed/manipulated someone to take baptism. All the Christian’s are not really the believers as mentioned in the bible. No one plucks their eye if it is sinned as Jesus mentioned. Not that they have to pluck but they don’t either follow the decent basic words of the god. Christian’s among themselves they don’t have unity, not everyone goes to same church under the name of same god. They build their own churches made their own traditions and nothing like it mentioned in bible, they divide each other even with believes. If I bless one good Christian to loose everything and everyone he loves, he will simply hate me. Job did lost everything, but got everything by the blessings of gods who is ready to live for god like that. Some Christian’s celebrate 24th Dec and feel proud yet they believe 25th is right date of birth of the Christ. They just need a day to celebrate.

To me good Christian means, living a life just Jesus alone and follow his words not for your own life not for your own word as simple as that.

Depends on which bible you believe. In some bibles it's "somebody who has faith in God." In others it's "Someone who is like Jesus" But in yet others no one is "good" and we are all "sinners" :aka Mark

"And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” - 'Mark 7:20-23

So Christianity and it's sects can be quite schizophrenic for the layman.

I don't think anyone can be a good Christian cause most humans are flawed In sin. But to set the example by not juding others harshly & preaching about God but not forcing God among others, show what you have and receive through blessings from God but don't boast. Always be greatful for what you have and God provided. Don't look down upon others & never want what anyone else has in a jealousy type way. Also have no idols and respect yourself enough not to have them.

I am atheist so my view is from that angle. A good Christian acts in accordance with Christian teachings which are themselves a collection of rules and morals present in most cultures and religions.

Going to church does not make a person a Christian if in their day to day lives they just dismiss or hurt other people. A rich person donating a few quid or dollars to a charity and shouting about it doesn't make them good or a Christian. A poor person giving their last few coppers to help a person in need does act as a Christian or good person.

One particular book says everything about leading a Christian life, The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley. Two Characters spring to mind, Mrs Do-as-you-would-be-done-by and Mrs be-done-by-as-you-did.

Matthew 7:12 says virtually the same.

The VERY FIRST STEP is Salvation

Thats here:
(I also usually like to mention that you can't lose your salvation no matter what once you have it)

Second would be joining a good church that believes the King James Bible.
Third would be discipleship. Learning the basic principles in the Bible and striving to follow them
Fourth would be soulwinning. Telling others how they could get saved and also go to heaven when they die.

I'd say those 4 would make a decent Christian.

I think this is fairly clearly outlined in the Bible. For my personal preferences though, a Christian should be faithful, humble and able to testify to and exemplify Christianity without being pushy or judgmental. I’ve only met a couple like this in my entire life.

You do the right thing, having integrity and looking out for your neighbor is more important than any church nonsense. Pray in public or private it doesn't matter, Jesus's teachings go far more to resemble behaviors stated above then rules of the Old Testament

Someone who professes that Christ is God who lived, died, and resurrected, keeps His Commandments and receives the Sacraments as often as he or she are prepared to. The Christian life is a lifelong journey of repentance. The good Christian certainly isn't the one who lives perfectly, because none of us except Christ did or ever will do, but the one who continues their journey toward Him no matter how many times he or she stumbles and has to get back up.

Loving God and loving your neighbor. I try not to use words like good or bad Christians. Because we're all flawed and fall short of God. A God Christian always takes a look at himself and asks himself am I living life life for him.
