As a Christian, do you think God’s kingdom is more effective than personal skill or talent?

The bible says if you serve God and oblige yourself with proper moral boundaries, you will prosper and be satisfied.

Jesus said you would have all you seek if you put God and His objectives above your own concerns while being kind and responsible and accepting of your duties in life. I think doing what the church says is more effective than buying hair extensions or high heeled shoes if you want to attract a good guy.

Do you think so too? What are your thoughts about it?

To be very honest, the entire book of proverbs has really key knowledge in what we would call "character development". Even throughout the rest of the bible too, but proverbs is just straight up character development. I don't think there's anything wrong with getting hair extensions or things that aren't very clearly labels as "sins" in the bible. However, the main point of everything has been, put God first. What does that mean? That means if you have 10 Rolex watches, and God asks you to give one away to this guy/girl, and you don't, then in your heart you value the Rolex higher than you value God. There's no shame or sin in having expensive cars, jewelry, extensions, watches, etc.

(And the rich young ruler isn't an example, because there's 10+ examples of Jesus asking others to give out of abundance.)

As long as these things are not overtaking your relationship with God, Blatant sin as outlined in scripture.

( I don't mean stretching the scripture, I mean clear and specific sins)

And not clouding or inhibiting you from remembering to spend time with him.

(Which can be anywhere at anytime because he lives inside us, so there's no inherent place that we need to go to hear from him. 1 John 4)

Then you are totally okay.
