Are some people terrified of aging?

I don’t look forward to it but it doesn’t bother me, because I’m not an atheist. Is that strange that I don’t mind? I just feel that there’s a greater purpose to life than just being alive.

I think everyone is to some extent terrified of it. The gradual realisation that, while you feel the same, you are irrevokably changing. And you are changing into a you with more issues than the previous you.

I also believe near all of us come to terms with it quite peacefully. As an aethist, agnostic if we're political about it but aethist is fine, it does not scare me any more than it seems to scare devout people. Death is not scary. Instead what concerns me about aging is the loss of health, the things I will not get to do or be part of. The people I want to be there for who I can not. My eventual death is in no way frightening. It is the loss of life, not dying, that is upsetting. The distinction is more than a change of words.

Point taken, but I really strongly think there’s something greater in life. It’s not based on fear. It’s a firmly held belief.

It's always based on fear. But of course your brain isn't going to think that. Would be a lame denial trick if you understood it was denial.
Our brains process and cope with things before we are aware of it and how it does is in many way's a lot tends to be through belief systems. There is a reason why you'll always hear of people at lowest moments of their life Jesus spoke to them etc and they will truly believe that because that's what the person needed to cope so the brain did it.

Not opinion it's based on countless studies of human psychology and factual evidence. But believe whatever you what as your brain will ignore such studies to cope the way it does. The mind is a brilliant thing.

I could argue the same thing with atheists. That it makes them feel better to believe they’re not accountable to anyone at their lives’ end. I could argue that psychics like Allison Dubois have helped solve murder cases. But your brain ignores such studies. The mind is a brilliant thing.

Having said that, ultimately no one can prove anything for one hundred percent certainty. Either way. So your opinion is as valid as mine and you’re entitled to it.

It’s been proven, some say that there’s no life after death. Others say it’s been proven that there is. Near death experiences, psychics working with police, prophetic dreams, etc.

It’s what I do think and the fact that you disagree with my personal beliefs doesn’t make you bad. But mocking them is a sign of ignorance and immaturity which you’ll grow out of when you’re older. I know from experience.

Didn't mock once here. But when I do mock religion like I do all the time it's usually because of the negative effects it has brought to the world not the belief it's self of a god existing yet I would also agree that's wrong just because science has tons of reasons to why it is.

Well, I agree that it’s brought some bad into the world. That’s why I became Anglican rather than Catholic. I think the Catholic Church has made mistakes.

As a man, I don't care about it. And the older I get the more better and smart I get.

Like most teenage boys life is awful for me because I had no money and was talked down to by asshole adults. Now those same adults call me selfish and that I need to share my success with them.

Now I get to look down on them. And I work out and take care of my health.
