It means more or less the same, the word Apocalypse is of greek origin while doomsday is English.
It's the same thing with just different terminology.
apocalypse is more if a long drawn out war where as doomsday is more of an appointed time for said war to have some sort of beggening
One's a planet, the other is a supervillain.
A doomsday can be any tragedy, an apocalypse is the end of the world (at least as we know it).
The first has more religious connotations the other not so much
Where the idea originates from, there's also things like ragnarok, which is also basically the same.
One is DC the other is Marvel.
