I do not choose to agree or deny how others practice their religion - its not my job to agree or disagree with them - I only choose whether I want to live that lifestyle with them and I choose not to cause I'm not Islamic. I have met incredibly happy Islamic woman who wear hijabs that have husbands who adore them and provide for them and treat them like queens. I do not view the veil as a form of violence. I view violent people who act on those thoughts as a form of violent expression to be violent. The veil itself is just a form of clothing, its properties and implications are not universal for all who wear it.
Do it if you want, believe what you want. I don't care. Just don't push it on me.
The Poll don't make sense, many women with Veils travel and work in my City, I consider Islamic Veils to be a Symbol of women oppression, women get killed for not wearing Veils.
I see them but I don't look at them, which I assume is the intention.

I have no problem with Muslims. Most of them are super nice, friendly, considerate and generous. I've met quite a few who fit that description. And I know people who have traveled to places like Syria, Palestine, Iran and Turkey who said the same thing.
The only thing I'm not crazy about are the old fashioned patriarchal norms, which aren't unique to only Muslim cultures.
I never met any fundamentalists.
I don't like burkas or full face coverings at all. But I don't mind hijabs. Some of those are really cute. And I see them as little different from wearing a scarf or a hat.
I donāt have any opinion.
Im not religious myself but I donāt judge people for following certain requirements in their own religion.
now do I believe that certain views in religion comes from misogyny? Absolutely. Not only the veils but the beliefs that women should be obedient to their husbands, etc. all stems from sexist beliefs and they disguise it as āgods wishes.ā (But thatās not just an Islam thing every religion plays into it at an extent)
but if thatās the religion you believe in and you want to follow the rules of it, so be it 🤷āāļø
Head covering, I think they are being respectful to their beliefs and traditions. don't have issue with it.
Veil I think is excessive and I wonder if they feel trapped and abused and controlled.
Yes I've seen as many immigrants in my area from various countries. During Iraq war , was many Muslim women and had a mosque near my house. I visited once and saw a woman there in a panic wanting to escape her husband. Never saw anything like that in my church since women in other beliefs have freedom to leave.
In the first place, I've never seen "A WOMEN". Secondly, ALL religion is BULLSHIT and has done NOTHING but cause death either through wars or because of its INSANE dictates!!
When I see a woman dressed up like that I feel as though she's in a prison and, most likely, a self-imposed prison!! (Same goes for nuns!! WHERE in the bible does it SAY you HAVE to dress like a penguin in a goofy hat that might cause you to fly?) If you don't WANT to dress up like that, band together with others that don't and just STOP dressing that way!! What are they gonna do, mass-murder you ALL because some fucking BULLSHIT religion told them to?
They are free to wear as they please.
The funny thing is, dipshits who disagree are the same dipshits who scream "freedom of speech" when any other girl isn't allowed to wear what she "likes".
It's a whiteknight complex they have. They think all women secretly want to walk around in bikini's, but it's those pesky Muslim men stopping them doing so.
all people are different..
there's good muslims and there is bad Muslims too not only muslims all people u can find th
em different like good, bad, cool, religion, etc..
but honestly there's a high count of bad muslims who destroyed our country like isis Terrorist organizations, such as the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood movement also in Turkey and Egypt that want to kill and destroy in the name of Islam and fight all people to become Muslims by fighting.
No one can say about ISIS that they are not Islam and do not follow Islam... because they are Muslims and they belong to the teachings of the Qur'an. In my opinion, what the terrorists are doing is already in the books of Islam that the clerics are trying to hide. Perhaps they are more frank and interpret verses in the wrong way, perhaps, but the speech is there
I am sorry, I am not attacking you because of your religion, but I see many wrong positions in this religion, such as: Interfering in matters mentioned and occurred in the Bible 600 years before the advent of Islam (that Christ was not crucified and was likened to him, that his name was Jesus, that he associated partners with God and endless attempts by them to harm the image of Christianity) * Also, like when a Christian person dies, those sheikhs who are scholars in the religion run. Go back a little bit in the history of Islam How was Islam spread? The Islamic conquests were like wars
At the head of them is the Prophet Muhammad, who married a minor at the age of 9. They enter the city and fight it, they force them to convert to Islam, or they kill them, so whoever of them becomes Muslim, and they take captives and spoils of war, that is, they rape the women of those cities, assault their daughters, and steal their property under the name of spoils... And these ISIS are doing exactly what happened during the days of the Prophet Muhammad. A question for you How can that man whose daughter and wife were raped at the hands of those Islamic conquests convert to Islam? Are you robbing me and raping my women and taking my property and calling me to Islam? My dear, these are not the best preachers of Islam, as there is a verse in the Bible that says, āFrom their fruits, you will know them.ā
Any religion can be recognized by the behavior of its children.. We did not choose our religion, rather we inherited it from our parents.
Guess I'm going to be the controversial person here. I'm sad they are being compelled to hide themselves as though their body is something inherently sinfull. I hate that if they don't behave as Islam dictates they face social isolation or physical harm. I'm frustrated that Muslims treat women and the LGBTQ community very poorly.
Can you walk around in public not covered? Do you have to walk a certain number of places behind a man when going somewhere?
I'm curious, from what I understand Muslim traditionalists do have to follow these rules.
To clarify, can you walk around in clothes that a guy wears (blue jeans & t shirt). Would this be an sin in your religion? Also thank you for taking the time to explain your perspective.
It is alien to see a woman covered from head to foot and I sort of dislike it as it is an alien culture.
One thing I have noticed is the girls who only have their eyes showing do put a lot of effort into their eye makeup and unashamedly meet your gaze.
I don't hate the woman, or think of her as lesser. I do feel pity for her though, and accept that her morals will not align with mine, as she is willing to accept and promote a book that actively encourages violence and inequality among people.
āIndeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.ā Surah Al-Ma'idah - 5:33
Believe in me and what I tell you to do or I'll make you suffer :)
@SamA_nold There's historical contexts for such verses. You can't just pick and choose a verse and then throw it around like you know what it is referring to. At the time before the Qur'an came, inequality and oppression was rampant in that part of the world. The Qur'an was revealed in order to fix that. Female babeis were thrown into ditches because males were the preferred children. That was put to a stop immediately when the Qur'an was revealed. Punishment was served if a family was still doing it.
Sure, so you are saying the only solution to violence that a god could come up with was murdering and amputating the limbs of people who disagreed with it. Seems kind of like a man wrote it, hmmā¦
Either way, So murder is supported by this god⦠so itās still a tyrannical, murderous beast according to the book. And it hasnāt released an updated volume two, so.. those are still the rules it wants today⦠Not sure you made the point you wanted to
If I see a hijÄbi/niqÄbi, my first thought would be that Sheās most probably Muslima (few other women wear veils). I go to Her and say assalÄmu 3alaykunu warahmatullÄhi wabarakÄtu. G-d forgives all sins of people who wish each other peace, according to one hadÄ«th. Iām happy that not everyone want to break G-dās mitzvah and dress seductively.
The headscarf is not just a thing in Islam. It is also in your Bible and Torah.
So why don't your people wear it? While an ordinary Muslim woman is covered, why don't other women, except Christian and Jewish nuns?
Sorry, I didn't pay attention. Are you Arab? Have a blessed Ramadan.
I am sad for that. I am Hanafi.
On some real shit that she would get punished if I saw her face, simply cause I'm not very informed on other religions so I don't know how it really is, I'm just going by what I pick up
I thought married women did š
@MementoMori777
Covering her face is due to her taqwa. It is not necessary for him to cover her face, but he does it voluntarily. This is also in your religion, you don't know your religion yet.
Nah then it's most likely cap lol
This isn't in my religion by the way
Christianity
@MementoMori777
It's in your religion too. Why are the nuns veiled? Covering her face is of her own accord, not obligatory.
Bruh I'm not catholic š
I'm Christian, I don't follow the catholic side of Christianity because I actually believe the pope and all that stuff is a deception, they are know to change things a lot as well, I don't mess with that
@MementoMori777
The Bible says that women must cover their heads. It says she has to shave her hair if they don't cover it
@MementoMori777
Hijab exists in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. So this is an order of Allah. It's not fake, stop deceiving yourself.
Nah bro, not in the Bible that I read, like I said catholics change things up a lot, i read the KJV of the Bible, it's quite interesting
Why should something that happens in three religions be a lie? Is your sect Anglicanism?
Nah baptist
I really don't understand the way it all works cause I was never curious enough, all I know is that I read from one Bible and that's the KJV of the Bible
I don't know about this denomination.
@MementoMori777@
I understand that you believe differently.
originally said Christian women should cover their hair like he said @MementoMori777 covering your hair is not just in Islam i see Christian women covering their hair too and people don't see her as scary etc but when it comes to a Muslim woman its way different its crazy because we are all people š
@TurkishDİxon3419
š„° yes you are 100% Correct all for ALLAH
All I know is that all 20 years I've been surrounded by Christians I've never seen anyone at church cover up lol
@MementoMori777
It's like Christians don't have a veiled woman except nuns.
I'd like for you to find the verse in the Bible for me, in case I missed it but I don't recall it being there, King James Version of the bible
I'm not catholic lol
@MementoMori777
I don't know anything about this.
I don't know if I sounded offended but I'm not, I'm just not aware of clothes restrictions in my religion and if y'all think there is then I genuinely want to know where y'all read it cause I don't recall that
This is why I use emojis I sound like a douche without them š
@MementoMori777
Have you ever thought that your sect might be wrong? Can't you just refuse to accept something because you don't like it?
I mean the same logic goes to you, considering no one mocks your God but everyone seems to mock mine, I don't know what to tell you
Tbh this is more evidence towards the existance of Jesus lowkey
y'all can be open about your believes but if I'm open people will hate on me, seems spiritual to me
@MementoMori777
We believe in the same God, only you see Jesus as God. Allah (Allah) has no partner
No other religion but mine has this problem
There's a lot of hate for someone that's supposedly not a God tho
Bible also speaks of it happening too so it just makes my faith stronger
Is there an entity bothering you?
Nope there was tho
God helped me fight it off, and I pray in Jesus name, it worked
Ever wondered what might happen if Jesus is the son of God and if he did die for you?
@MementoMori777
Jesus did not die for us. Allah raised him to His level and is waiting for the day when he will return again. Someone else took the place of Jesus and they crucified him. Jesus, son of Mary, did not die. He is waiting for the day when he will kill the antichrist.
Agree to disagree brotheršš
Nope and I apologize but I will never think about that I respect all Christians and what they believe in but I don't believe that the Almighty God had a son that just sounds like none sense to me why would Almighty God want a son like it those make no sense to me but it makes a lot of sense for other, so what I would say is believe in whatever you think is right for you and go on with your day Alhamdulillah but don't ever judge and disrespect people for their belives and if you do think about what good those that do to you what do you get from being rude and judgmental
Completely agree with you, best day to both of you.
@TurkishDİxon3419
you are correct i completely agree with that 100%
In non Muslim countries, Muslim women with covering are ill treated rather victom of hate and humiliation but in Muslim countries, respected
Since they are forced to do it then they are slaves to the old fashion rules. Think about it, if the Quran, the Holy Bible, or etc. were written in todayās modern world it would be totally different.
I am a Muslim woman and i am not forced to do anything I dress modestly because i respect myself and I want other people to respect me and i love it because people do show more respect when they see that you value your self and respect your se lf and hold a hight standard for yourself
Maybe true or not. If you was raised in a different culture and religion would you be different āprobablyā. So since God is God do you think it would be fair for him to choose one religion over the other. If he did he would be a mean God. The thing I do not understand about the holy ābookā meaning all. Is why some rules given by god can be broken in todayās world but others canāt. As the chapters in the holy books were written so did time change. As the last chapter was written according to the holy books time change stop. Why was the last chapter written in about 850AD stopping time and now is 2023. Sorry about the grammar mistakes, I have a communication and writing problem. Anyways smile and enjoy life
I used to work with a woman who wore a complete burka and the first time I saw her as I was getting into an elevator it startled me (WTF? A black ghost?). But generally it just makes me curious as to what she looks like.
Islam is not religions it's a way of life and covered girls are best in world. In Islam females are like gems and people mostly covered and hide it their gems.
It causes a desire to remove the veil and long clothing to see what beauty lies underneath it all.
Exactly drives me crazy with desire.
hijab is a necessary thing
I notice it and don't think anything else about it
Kind of scary
