+1 yI follow the bible and I do not consider myself a traditional Christian, a Messianic Jewish person, or a Jewish person. I am just a bible follower.
11 Reply- +1 y
hmm, like "resting no work on rabbi holidays" in leviticus 23? or no blood and no homo in books acts and romans?
+1 yI don't know, to be honest. I considered myself to be agnostic before, but recently I lost a loved one to suicide, so now I really hope there's an after life or something. After that happened, I've been a bit more on the Christianity side again, out of hopes that I'll see that person again one day. That's the only reason though, and I still have a lot of problems with that religion. I've never had good experiences with Christians.
I guess you could say I just need some sort of sense of security, but I'm not sure23 Reply- +1 y
to iii, content suicide", bad news despite christ taught afterlife, suicide might lose that. if that only reason... but other benefits...
513 opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. I was raised Catholic but no longer believe in gods or supernatural beings. After studying the history of Christianity and Judaism, world religions, mythology, ancient history, cultural anthropology and philosophy, I see no more reason to believe in the God of the Bible than in the gods of other cultures throughout history.
So I guess I'm an atheist, although I acknowledge that no one can prove either the existence or non-existence of gods. So I don't worry about it. I don't believe in "the word of God" as claimed by so-called experts.
I have my own spirituality that involves reverence and gratitude for all life and all creation.11 Reply- +1 y
to ll, content catholic ", one difference is predictions zeus and thor and muhamed have stories not predictions but jehova sent isaiah and others with predictions and some unlikely ones were found true when occurred so maybe really from jehova?
I follow God cause he is good. As well forgiving. The part about being an atheist. Which means u have no belief in God or the Devil. In reality just cause u can't see either of the 2. U think they dont exist. God does exist proof he does answer prays. The part about the Devil is he power of temptation. Remember it easy 2 be bad but its hard 2 be good

+1 yI don't believe in religion. I tried a few times. I had too many questions that couldn't be answered. The last time the pastor actually lied about many things to many church members. It went from 250 people down to 30. 12 of them was his family. Then he did it to me. So, no religion. I'll believe in God my own way like the Bible states.
25 Reply- +1 y
So You can just be Christian if You believe the Bible. You don’t have to join a sect or a cult to be spiritual. There are unitarian Christians (Sir Isaac Newton) and I reckon Hispanic-Cool-Guy also follows no sects. I believe pastors lie, but follow they Christianity or their church? I believe the Qur’ān, but I’m neither Sunni nor Shia nor Ibadi, just Muslim.

@HippieVeganJewslim The quran? Blocked!
- +1 y
to poi content bible" which system grace or ceremony?
- +1 y
@HippieVeganJewslim speaking of quran did u know? q wrote christans have "reward and no worry" also christian book is good and light. which other religion validated competition?
- +1 y
@strateguy632 I understand You not, mate. What mean You? Q? Where says it anywhere that Christians get reward and no worry? I accept that; I worry not!
I don't like the idea of being a (in my view, mindless) follower of any ideology or religion, but the one that I relate to the most is Christianity, specifically the Jehovah's Witnesses. They at least aren't hypocrites, and actually follow (or at least try to follow, to the best of their abilities) what's actually written in the Bible.

- +1 y
@Paige90 Which tongue, matey? American is a tongue, so’s English, and Netherlandish, Deutsch, Russian, Hebrew, and Jewish.
- +1 y
Speaking in tongues is biblical:
“If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” - +1 y
@BarryLiverstone This is Like Filthy rags to God. You neeed to Believe in the Salvation Story of Christ Dying on the Cross for us. Thus ALONE wil NOT get you to God. ONLY through Jesus. xxoo
- +1 y
I just posted from the Bible as someone said speaking in tongues isn’t biblical
- +1 y
I doubt that Bible verses are filthy rags to Gof
- +1 y
@BarryLiverstone "Speaking in tongues" just means speaking in a language that the person would otherwise not be familiar with (ex. Japanese, Arabic or whatever). It's presented as being some sort of miracle.
- +1 y
@BarryLiverstone And the completion was the completion of the New Testament and the Bible. There was no need for speaking in tongues after that and as Corinthians says... "they will cease."
- +1 y
@HippieVeganJewslim, to hip, content "sect" still a sect within christian.
- +1 y
@Ptrmbrs88 I spoke English, and many here understand English, mate. Now, when a verse in written in King James’ English, how the heck can I read it?
- +1 y
@HippieVeganJewslim King James' English is still English, and most English-speakers don't have a problem with it. For me it's easy.
- +1 y
@Ptrmbrs88 if You like archaic words, fine by me, but I don’t hear words like thou, thee, thine, ye, shalt, meat (when referring to any food, not necessarily carcasses of animals), etc every day. I also have little problem, but it just looks weird, personally. Many say dated words, like groovy, are not supposed to be used anymore, but those James’ words are even more archaic.
- +1 y
@HippieVeganJewslim Not "supposed" to be used anymore? People can if they want to. Thou hast not understood the implications of thy attitude upon the English language. 'Tis not groovy.
- +1 y
@Ptrmbrs88 many wouldn’t understand, ðough I would. If I were to write a school essay wiþ ðose words, I might get a lower grade for ye olde-fašioned style. However, I’m all for using ye hippie words, like groovy, man, and might even be OK for ye olde words like thou, thine, thee, hast, thy, art, etc. Those are for informal singular speech, and the modern modern words used to be formal speech.
