Is it wrong that I feel closer to God spiritually when I intake weed?

yep, cause thats a deception, you dont need weed to feel closer to god, i hope you overcome your weed habits and god shows you the truth about his love and opens your eyes to these different kinds of deceptions but until you do decide and overcome this habit, dont consume that lie, you dont need a drug to be closer to god, take it from an ex pothead, i was in the same position thinking god was making me wiser with weed but it was all a deception from the devil for me to fall deeper into it, i not only almost fell into growing and selling weed again but i fell into other drugs as well, wouldve gotten worse considering at the time my lungs felt the pressure of a balloon when i breathed, thats when i realized i was going to die if i kept going down that path, guess who pulled me out of that, god i asked for his help, i managed to go cold turkey from everything and almost 2 years later i never touch drugs again and my connection with god is stronger than ever, sober, god can always hear you and he's always with you, with or without drugs, donr forget that.

That’s crazy because that’s exactly how I been feeling. I don’t smoke, I more so intake edibles. I always thought maybe I was being delusional, overthinking or that God was telling me “You don’t have to be in this state of mind to feel that I’m there with you. I’m always with you. You just have to see things clearer with a clearer mind.”

that is definitely god calling out to you, after all his word does say to stay sober minded because the devil is around the corner waiting to devour, being sober minded is a strength, these drugs make your mentality weaker and it makes it easier for satan to manipulate you, you dont need drugs, satan needs drugs to keep you from knowing the truth, god put you in my way for a reason and the truth has been revealed, drugs are a deception, you helped me as well, as the ex pothead that i was i always thought of going back into it with edibles but here you are showing me its not the way either, god works in mysterious ways indeed, we both were corrected by god today 😆

Absolutely. It’s crazy how God works. I also would like to say, though I now understand clearer what weed does to the mind and how God is trying to steer me away from it, I do feel that my discernment stays the same rather I’m sober or high. It just enhances when I’m not sober. When you were a smoker, did you ever get that feeling?

it felt like i could understand things better but the more i think of it, that couldve been manipulation for me to understand it completely different to then believe god wants it that way when its meaning is something else, after all an intoxicated mind is intoxicated and at that point you can't really trust it to work the way it works when sober, mostly spiritually considering satan can whisper one thing in you ear when under the influence and create a lie to make you believe it so to me everything did seem clearer but i realized the meaning of the verses aren't how i was taking them in leading to another type of deception.

You’re absolutely right. Wow. That’s exactly what came over me when I thought of things when not sober but what I did to be able to tell the difference between a thought of God and one of the enemy is once the thought comes to your mind, are you able to piece together things to back that thought up? Rather sober or not, that’s how I learned to differentiate the two. Also, if those same thought comes to mind while not high, that’s another way to tell the difference because when you really think about it, THC only enhances who you are so smoking it or eating it and being able to see things clearer can also be God’s way of saying “You already have the power of discernment. It’s within you. You just have to know how to use it sober as well as you use it when not sober. This will lead you away from the bad habit. Don’t depend on weed to tap into an already naturally given gift from me.”

yep but dont forget THC also destroys brain cells and thats what got me thinking, if weed is destroying my brain cells that god gave me that my brain uses to think and that forms my intelligence then how is it manipulating my mind? in the long run it destroys your mind and thats the long term effect that will be highly effective in your life, i abused the drug so much i was slow, im not exaggerating, i was slow to the point someone would tell me something simple and id take a while to understand and process what they say, it was also recently discovered that it highers the risks of heart problems as well, I don't know if youve noticed it but you probably will when i mention it, you lost your ability to dream right? 2 years later and im still recovering from things, i still have complications with dreaming which god can use to communicate with you, you believing its enhancing your leaening ability might be a plus but there's many more cons and its a bad trade, thats the trick in it lol

I love this. It’s incredible how God can bring those of us who are truly out to seek him together, in one way or another. Even being able to be open about where we fall short, admitting to still be participating in wrong doings but also being aware that we need to change and be better. Not many conversations stay just being conversations. It usually just turns into a debate, putting one against the other and this is where I believe WE stand out.

My faith doesn’t “Depend” on me being High. I pray, read Bible scriptures and talk to God irregardless but I just feel more in tune and in touch with my prayers, thoughts and talks to/with God when I am high and I feel that could be a problem because why can’t I have that same strong of a feeling when I’m sober and doing all those same things with him, talking, praying and telling him my thoughts.

No. I actually haven’t but it sounds interesting enough to go listen to now that I’m aware a song like that exist lol but I know it’s normal for stoners to say they feel more connected to God when they’re high but I was asking in a way, like if the feeling you get of feeling closer to God comes from weed only, are the feelings even real? I mean considering the Bible says you should always have a sober mind.

No doubt, it feels real and when I sober up I still think on the things I thought about pertaining to God when I was high and my discernment feels the same as well when I’m sober so I’m stuck In between “Is it all the weed talking and thinking for me? Am I being delusional from the weed?” Or is the weed actually “Waking me up spiritually.” Preparing me to be closer to God, sober and feel close to God without thc.
