I was raised protestant. I left the church when I was 16 and my divorced father finally stopped forcing me to go when I would refuse to sit with him for 6 months. Church was fine when it was stuff like Sunday school or teen youth group and there was more to do than just sit and listen. I barely paid attention to the sermons, I always ended up dissociating through them because I felt no community. On the whole, I care about protestants about as much as catholics these days. As long as they’re not molesting kids, hating queer folks, or doing anything to harm another group of people, I don’t care if they worship Satan himself.

I am Catholic and married a Protestant so its all good. I think a king, Henry VIII, simply wanted a divorce and created Protestantism as a result of his frustration of being told no and then made one of the most powerful country at the time Protestant. It has endured and thats all there is to it. Yes, there were things that happened before that but this was the main reason it endures.

There was Anglicanism well before Henry VIII. He juat made it the st as te church so he could divorce, since his wives weren't producing sons. Also, the Reformation started with Luther.

Um... King Henry didn't create Protestantism. The Protestant Reformation began in Wittenberg Germany with Martin Luther, the former Catholic monk. He despised the church authority so he created Protestantism to counter it.

well i often see believers praise god when good things happen to them but then not condemn god if shit happens. when shit happens they blame themself. i say: be consistent. either blame god for the shit that happens too or take accountability for both the good and the bad.

People had no concept of what air is. They could feel the wind and they observed breathing. Something enters our body and something exits and they didn't know why. What they knew is that whoever didn't breathe did not continue to live. So they assumed whatever makes us who we are enters us with the first breath and leaves us with the last. That's what spiritualism litterally is. The assumption that air is where our character comes from.

i'm an apistevist. i reject faith as a legitimate method to reach any conclusions. also i'm an ignostic atheist meaning i am not convinced that a god exists and i also do not think that it even mattered if god existed, cause that evidently has no consequence for our life. i would call myself a secular humanist, which isn't a faith/religion but more like philosophy or a world-view.

There are Protestants but there is no single Protestant denomination. The idea of the Reformation was "the Bible is the sole authority for all matters of faith and conduct and that salvation is by God's grace and by faith in Jesus Christ." Because of this, no one person is in charge.
