It was introduced by psychologist Carl G. Jung to explain that we experience scenarios that seem as coincidence but really are connected somehow and we just can’t identify the cause.
Many believe in a spiritual meaning or aspect of this.
I ask because I am a scientist, and it’s impossible to create a science out of something that cannot be observed. However, I see so much manifestation of such events that I do have to question.

I don't believe in manifestation to the extent that you can WILL something to happen, as I'm religious, and I believe that you make prayer for such things. That being said, I do believe in a form of unintentional influence. You're a scientist, so I'm pretty sure you're aware of the double-slit experiment. This is a good experiment that alludes to the possibility of the conscious mind's influence on reality.
Very familiar, yes. Free will is a tangent topic, but let’s go there. Free will is limited. You are right; we cannot will anything we want to happen. Many claim that what you believe is what comes to be, but that would mean that, for example, flat earthers walk a flat earth. Consciousness absolutely affects our subjective experience, but there must be a divine line of will that we cannot cross - an objective reality we all are subject to but only experience subjectively individually.
I don't doubt that they sometimes do happen to some people, but the universe is such a big, complex place that I'd be very surprised if they didn't happen. One YouTuber that I sometimes like to watch, often says that he "doesn't believe in coincidences", and that when they occur there is a reason why and the reason is due to the fact they're linked in some way, but that's silly. Coincidences DO happen, all the time, but too many people see connections that just aren't there.
It’s based on probability, for the most part. What tells you that the connections are not there?
I have no personal experience, but watch the movie „The Eagle Has Landed“, it mentions the Synchronicity theory as a plot point.
