Is Christianity the right path?
πππβοΈ
It's good that you're taking time to explore different religions and find what feels right to you. Changing faiths is a big decision.
From what I've seen, Christianity does seem more about love and acceptance than other faiths. Jesus preached treating everyone with kindness, helping the poor, forgiving others - all that good stuff. That "love thy neighbor" thing really resonates with me.
Catholicism specifically does have a long history and beautiful art/architecture too. The rituals and symbols seem pretty cool. And the community aspect of church could be nice to be a part of.
At the same time, definitely keep asking questions before fully committing. Keep learning about what Christians actually believe deeper down. Make sure it's a faith you fully understand and support the core ideas of, not just the surface level stuff.
Maybe also talk to people from both religions honestly about your thoughts. Get different perspectives on the pros and cons. Then follow what calls to your heart and values the most. As long as you feel Christianity is the path of love and God for you, that's what matters. But explore it thoroughly first.
Good luck on your spiritual journey! You'll figure out the right path in time.
Christianity has always seemed to me more moderate and loving than other religions, and as you said, Christianity and the Catholic sect have a magnificent history and architecture, and these are reasons in themselves. I thoroughly researched and analyzed people from two religions (Christian and Muslim). While Muslims were prejudiced and hateful, Christians were respectful and understanding.
Yeah it totally seems like Christianity is more about love and acceptance. Like you said the Muslims you met seemed pretty judgmental but Christians were way more chill.
I think that's a big reason Christianity feels right to you. No one wants to be part of a religion where people are always putting others down. Life's too short for that kinda negativity ya know?
The history and buildings are definitely cooler with Christianity too. Our school took a field trip to a huge catholic cathedral once and it was insane how beautiful it was. You could really feel the love and art in every detail. Mosques just dont seem as welcoming when you look at pictures.
Following your heart is the most important thing. And it sounds like your heart is telling you Christianity is a lighter, more hopeful path. I'm sure if you pray on it more you'll get clearer signs its the right choice. Dont be afraid to take the leap luv, better to be at peace with your beliefs. Let me know if you decide to convert!
In THIS particular existence (life) you have access to myriad options, and choosing can be... and IS 'daunting' BUT... keep in mind, 'You' the 'you' that exists as YOUR unique consciousness... WILL one day (by our perception) WILL stand before your Maker and BE held to account for the (perception of) 'time' You had been given. THAT is the weighty 'burden' / 'gift' of "free will"~
Now, we observe that each species is predisposed hereditarily to conduct themselves in specific ways. THESE are the 'character' of that particular species... the 'norm'.
Humanity has by both choice and circumstance, abridged & layered SO MANY exceptions and/ modifications to this 'normality' based upon affiliation and generational beliefs that YOU CHOOSE to 'buy into' to govern YOUR behavior; ... and, to which YOU PERSONALLY be held to account for. Asked to explain 'why' you did or didn't do or NOT do. MANY find this too personally daunting~
The is a European species of ground rodent called a 'Lemming' whose ancestral DNA predisposes it to a particular kind of migrational madness which drives it to travel to leap off of a cliff where generations ago, once there had been an ancient land bridge. The majority fall into the north sea, swimming until they exhausted, can swim no more, and drown. And, those, whom for whatever reason, did NOT follow their fellow masses, remain... mate, reproduce and CONTINUE their species.
Most Abrahamic-based religions (Christianity included) have an equivalent passage as found to be the Creator's admonition in the Old Testament of Genesis: "Go forth. Be fruitful and multiply..." But... ULTIMATELY the CHOICE and BURDEN rests upon YOU and for which YOU PERSONALLY will one da be call to account for to the UN-gendered MAKER of EVERYTHING. PEACE & So Mote This Be! ~

That's true, it's not because i'm christian i'm saying this, it's because after seeing and searching about all religions i found out that i'm on the right path...
The jews were the ones to start religion but they stopped in the middle of the road cause they didn't believe in Jesus whom they spent their whole lives preaching about his coming, while muslims took words from the old and new testament and made a mix to the words of mohamed with it, which aren't so accurate cause mohamed added so much of his lifestyle in it which cannot be considered as holy or sacred, while christianity is the real path of wisdom and faith...
In the end each person is free to choose where he/she finds where they fit the most...
I agree, if I were born Jewish or a member of another religion, I would still be a Christian. Because when we examine all religions, the one that seems most loving, moderate and compassionate to me is Christianity, and I believe that God will intercede for me when I become a Christian.
When it comes to Islam, it is said that there is peace in Islam, but since when has there been peace in countries where Islamic sharia is implemented or where the majority are Muslim?
That's true, a prophet has to be a good example for the others and sorry to say that i don't find such traits in mohamed because he had sex with girls who are 8 and 9 years old and no one can deny it, also he allowed to marry 4 women and there are many places where killing is justified, also using force... etc, these are facts that even muslims are aware of it...
The only thing good in my opinion that mohamed did is that he preached about god and turned people who worship statues into god worshippers, other than that it's either copied or just wrong...
Eh, every religion has their positives and negatives probably. I don't think Christianity is flawless by any means either. It's very flawed.
Personally, if you're browsing for things to believe in, I would recommend taking a look at "Toward the Light!". The name is so dramatic, and you can think what you will of what the book says, but at least it makes for some entertaining story :p
It's available for free on Google's Play Books app. Skip the "Statement" at the beginning of the book and just jump right in.
Nothing but love in that book :) As it should be.
but if someone is gonna read a book why a modern author when they can read stuff that did influence millions. in addition to fun reading
Christians are no more full of love and compassion than Muslims. Fundamentalist Christians are just as hateful and power-hungry as fundamentalist Muslims. The only difference is that western nations are liberal democracies with a tradition of freedom of conscience since the 18th century.
At least Western countries have turned into liberal democracies and are not left behind like Iran, Syria and Iraq.
In 1688 Emanuel Swedenborg was born. At or in his 50s he used psychic powers 2 talk 2 soul guides. One of the things he talkd about that peopl who've had current near death experiences hav said is that Christians n non-Christians go 2 heavn.
Someone did research on near deaths n said God doesn't care what religion u r. Emanuel did say Jesus came 2 teach the Jews right n that God knew what would happn 2 Jesus like the New Testament say's.
Whateva religion u r, common sense tells u what's right n wrong.
βOur religious beliefs do not matter to Godβ may be true, but I believe Christianity will teach me to look at life from different perspectives and help me find inner peace. Apart from all this, I think Christianity will add intellectual depth. I might even dedicate myself to working for the Vatican π
Not lately sadly, but it's still better than Islam. I know Christianity seems to be about love, but it really isn't. If you do convert, convert either to Catholicism or Orthodox. Avoid the Protestant religions like the plague. They're almost as bad as Islam, minus the head chopping.
I'm already thinking of becoming a Catholic
Where do you live?
Does your family know?
My family doesn't need to know, I live in Turkey for now.
I had a feeling you might be Turkish. Surely there are some Catholic churches there. A lot of young Turks are leaving Islam? Are you in a conservative area?
Would your family be mad? How would you keep it from them?
I am not Turkish, I am Caucasian. I live in istanbul Yes, some Turks are leaving Islam. I'm thinking of living a life away from my family. They are not very committed to Islam anyway.
You mean from the Caucasus? If you're North Caucasian I'm not surprised. Those Muslims are some of the most backwards people on earth.
Oh WOW!
I am Georgian and you are right, Muslims are backward.
I'm surprised, because most Georgians are Christians.
TRUE Muslims, yes
Don't get me started on everything wrong with Islam.
Islam varies from region to region. I was following many Muslim influencers who I thought were secular or moderate, but when the conflict with Israel erupted, they all started showing their true colors.
I'm gonna stop there, 'cuz otherwise we'll be here all dayπ
minus the head chopping? what about catholic inquisition led by submission to pope? catholic had torture and burn alive in fire. aut da fe etc.
@strateguy632 Keyword being HAD! We evolved and became civilized.
Granted, our countries do have the highest murder rates, but we don't murder people in the name or our religion anymore
It is. And as it so happens, I am a certified Catholic Catechist. Basically that means I can teach the Faith to those who are interested or seeking it, like yourself.
I am happy to help you if you would like 😊
I want to talk to you at length about Christianity.
Would you like to discuss here or over DMs?
If it's okay with you, I'd prefer to talk here.
Fair enough. What questions do you have?
sent you a message @Kyaelfo
Like with all religion, whether its the right path is up to you. You have to do a lot of research. You also have to realize that no matter what religion you choose there are always going to be unanswered questions. What it comes down to is what makes you happy and the most at peace
Yes, you are right, there will always be unanswered questions, but the faith of the one who questions will be stronger.
I have also realized that, I've noticed they put men on a pedestal and the truth is that God loves all of his creation, women as well, actually he made women for the man which makes women an important piece in society.
Yes, we are all equal in the sight of Allah, but Islam does not accept this.
if your concern is women, can a woman be pope or preist? only pure bible allows women leaders, in book romans and judges, not islam nor catholic nor budha.
The problem is not just women, I want to follow Jesus' path
if so you are able.. i recommend reading the teachings of jesus in book gospel john but not every chapter is equaly important start with chapters 3 aand 6 think about what jesus taught.
Believe what you want but organized religion is hogwash. It gives you a sense of belonging to something or a group, but at the same time you have a bunch of self-righteous people judging you who are no better than you
Arrogant people can be encountered anytime, anywhere. The important thing is to be in a place where I feel at peace and know that I am on the right path.
My only goal is to be useful to those around me.
I want to open up to the worldπ
Don't listen to the leftists saying don't become a part of the faithful. They're just godless souls that worship government.
If you are a Christian, this statement does not suit you.
I'm not any particular religion, but I do believe it's better to have faith in a God rather than give full faith to government.
Christianity is the Right Path for Christians.
So you think I shouldn't be a Christian?
but also "free will to sin" we do not choose stuff just kuz we can. we can eat only bread but we eat other stuff.
If you really want to know the correct answer, you must go to a sheikh or imam of a mosque, who has a lot of knowledge and knowledge of religion. He will tell you the correct answer, there is no compulsion in religion.
but why ask a sheik? if he has a certain faith he will promote that one. how can we choose one religious teacher over others? maybe we should all ask a rabbi or a pope to know the corretc ancwer?
@strateguy632 The intention here is that it addresses the people of religion and the question, both parties
Jesus is the way the truth and the life John 14 vs 6
No religion is; science is the only way forward. Religion teaches you to hate people who don't believe in the same faith by giving them labels. Religion is also harsh on women. And, till now, there's no evidence of God!
I respect your opinion
Yes it is please go to christianity and stay there βοΈ
πππ
No. It's just a religion. There are lots of those. There is nothing right or wrong about having a religion.
This is not a correct thought. For example, is it right to be a Satanist? Absolutely not, Satanism is a terrible thing.
You probably don't know that Satanists sacrifice cats in rituals?
There is a lot of news that this is true.
the right path to what? you can't know what the right way is, if you don't know the destination.
If your feeling love from Christianity that's your answer
πππβοΈβοΈβοΈ
NO religion has ALL the answers, so choose what works for you! Just practice whatever religion you want with open eyes.
I know and I made my choice
