If someone doesn't like their life they shouldn't be judged and sent to hell for it
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yBecause God gave you the gift of life. And it's not your place to return that gift. This question reminds me of an abortion debate I was having with a woman. She found out I didn't support abortion and challenged me on it. She verbally harassed me about it and said, "If you try to impede a woman's rights, you should be prepared that someone like me is going to engage your vociferously about it". To which I told her, "look I'm the LAST person you're ever going to see protesting an abortion clinic". "You're choices are your choices, even your choice of committing legalized murder". "But one day you'll be held to account for that choice with God, and you can engage him as vociferously as he allows".😆
Same thing if a person wants to off themselves that's their choice I guess. But understand your life touches a hundred, maybe a thousand lives. In ways you can't even comprehend. You're denying other people that. God created you with those interactions in mind. When you eliminate yourself you're changing an untold number of people's lives irrevocably. So in actuality suicide is a very selfish act. That's why it's a sin. You're part of God's glory!

+1 yAccording to the Catholic religion, yes, and serious too. The principle is that life is a gift from God and therefore only he can claim it back.
Human life is sacred because, from its beginning, it involves the creative action of God and always remains in a special relationship with its Creator, its only end. God alone is the Lord of life, from its beginning to its end, and no one, under any circumstances, can claim the right to directly destroy an innocent human being. We are not owners of life, but stewards of a gift received, and we cannot, as believers, dispose of it at will. Death tragically breaks the most intimate and sacred bonds, those of family and society, leaving irremediable wounds.
However, not all sucides are condemned to hell, often anguish, physical and psychological suffering, depression and other serious reasons can mitigate the guilt, in these cases the Almighty will grant them a lucid inner moment to be able to redeem themselves and obtain mercy.
Remember God is love, only he knows people's hearts, only he can judge us.

+1 ythey may not be... i know your asked not to because you may mess up life's order meaning you might mess up the process... and fate... i can't see god punishing you harshly because if you do you must've been suffering... but at the same time i can't condone it myself... because if you feel that way don't do it... do something about it like see a doctor or psychatrist... yes sometimes it's just plain hard to live... and there's plenty of people killing themselves everyday in biden's america... soldier's i heard average 18 a day and over a month that a lot of people.

I'm not judging but I wouldn't think God would be happy, right. It is a sin on the ten commandments , thou shall not murder. We do know God is forgiving and he love's us also know our life is a test. I pray things get better for you.

It's definitely a sin. I won't deny it never came across my mind but I am glad I didn't do it.
It's an unforgivable sin because those who commit it can't ask for forgiveness for it. Cutting short your life just because of problems of this world is wrong.
Two people with a tooth ache can't say one is suffering more than the other. Same is with our problems. If someone thinks he or she has had it worst go see the world, you will surely find someone who is having it worst than you but still enduring the life.
Why did you want to ask about suicide? If you don't mind you can talk to us here if it is because of someone or something?
10 ReplyIt's considered a sin in religion as you are taking the life that God gave you. If you believe that rubbish. But it is very sad that someone would feel that bad as to take their own life. On the other had if you have an incurable illness and you have had enough I can understand that. As I would probably be the same.

33Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. 36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
I would say it is sin.00 Reply
+1 yThey aren't.. Some people are in so much despair that they end their life.. It doesn't mean they go to hell.. Even some Christians commit suicide and I'm sure they won't go to hell.. But, suicide is a sin because ultimately it's murder.. God is the author and the finisher according to the Bible.. We don't get to choose when we die.. It's up to him.. It's also a selfish act..

+1 y"doesn't like their life they shouldn't be judged and sent to hell for it< doesn't like their life" not judged for that, just for killing a human. if i "don't like" someone i can't kill them.
00 Reply 3.8K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. They judged their life, so of course it's to hell they go! Is it even a question?
Next you will be saying murders should not be jailed as they are just "natural killers" like lions!

+1 yBecause it's the taking of a life, just as homicide is. Do remember, though, that sin requires moral agency, and mental illness can interfere with that.

For that matter, it's only socially considered sinful if there's no approved of reason for it; Maximilian Kolbe knowingly and willingly took a course of action that lead directly to his death, and he got made a Saint for it.

10 Reply 2.5K opinions shared on Religion & Spirituality topic. WGAF? Sin is just something someone invented to control others.
00 ReplyI mean you're still ending a life, so I get the reasoning for it being a sin, but I think you're onto something.

plenty of OTHER SINS are forbidden.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yyou don't got to hell for suicide, that is myth. If you believe in Jesus to be saved and you commit suicide you don't go to hell.

Opinion Owner+1 yAll your sins are forgiven past, present, and future if you believe in Jesus, suicide does not change that.
The bible does not say you can't be forgiven of your sins if you commit suicide. Anyone who claims otherwise does not get that from the bible, and goes against what the bible teaches.
Opinion Owner+1 yBut just because you believe in Jesus does not mean you will be saved, you must believe in him the right way or Jesus will tell you that he never knew you. You must believe in him for salvation, Jesus/God deserves all the credit for your salvation, do not trust in your good works for salvation. You can't commit a crime and tell a judge well I did all these good things, you will get charged for the crime regardless of all your good deeds. Jesus paid the fine for your sins so you can have eternal life if you belive in him. The bible says to believe in him and you shall be saved, not believe in him and repent of your sins, because its impossible. That is why people who commit suicide who believe in Jesus the right way don't go to hell.
Opinion Owner+1 yBecause it's impossible to repent of sin, and because repenting of your sins is work, which is a works based salvation and you're taking credit away from Jesus.
God wants you to stop sinning, but to stop sining is not how you get saved.
