You belongs to which religions and are you religious or not?
Hey guys are you religious?
You belongs to which religions and are you religious or not?
No, I’m not. I was brought up Catholic but started becoming introspective around 12/13. With my reasoning, I decided it was impossible for god or any higher being to exist, and religion was just an organization for community and social control.
When I was 15/16, if someone asked if I was religious, I would say I was spiritual. Though ignorant, I believed in universal truths that all religions focused on, and how humankind is inherently connected. I researched a little into Buddhism and Hinduism and liked those schools of thought, if not literally then as a concept. It was more next-level, whereas my Catholic upbringing was very stringent and guilt-focused. Buddhism is more holistic, about doing the right thing but also becoming the right kind of person.
I simply tell people nowadays that I’m not religious. I feel it’s less insulting to say that while also shutting down a possible attempt to get me to go to church.
I think organized religion can be beneficial for others, but if I was in one I would be living a lie. I have decided that in the future, my kids/family will do some kind of charitable work on Sundays to put the values of religion into practice thorough our actions and make a rewarding routine. Like volunteering at an animal shelter or soup kitchen, or visiting people at a nursing home.
"decided" key word not "proved impossible". meanwhile genius Einstein criticized "science without religion" and Einstein was not delusional.
I won’t consider myself religious, but I am a Christian and I pray every day. Not a church person though.
nope, not at all
the ironic thing is that im getting confirmed at our church next September
I've actually wanted to tell my parents about my thoughts, but im in too deep at this point. might as well just ride it out
plus, simply use logic, and you'll find why religion doesn't really work
A: there´s multiple religions, with different ideas of what and who god is
they can't all be right
B: things in the bible (like adam and eve) have been proven wrong by science and evolution
and finally: god (and gods) was/were created a long time ago to explain things humans didn't understand
i dont get how people still believe in them
Yes (Irish Catholic), but not in a very strict fashion. I figure if I, perhaps a perceptive human, but a human nonetheless, can see past people's quirks and foibles and limits to see what they're trying to a do or what they mean, then surely an omniscient god can do far better at it.
Love 'em all and let God sort 'em out.

Raised Catholic. Not religious anymore, for many years, dabbled with some Anglican/Episcopalian and that in the past, astrology, horoscopes however nowadays I just lightly like my own personal deity beliefs in a personal solo deity emphasis solo deity personally, that is like this: 😈
Seems to be working out for me for many years now even before, during and after the Covid-19 time period. Just saying, I like my personal beliefs, 😈 I just don't advertise it lol 👀 why would I 👍🏻👌🏻 until now I guess. I just lightly heartedly like a bit of devilish 😈👀😋☮️ and peace groovy vibes times cya
I have my own beliefs but its not a formal religion.
Nope. I'm not religious and don't have any reason to believe in supernatural beings. My spirituality has to do with reverence, awe and gratitude for nature and all creation.
The definition of "religious" can be interpreted differently from one person to the next. My religion is Bahai, I attend occasional holiday events and pray almost daily.
No, nay, never. I d was taken to church and Sunday School but I never believed any of it. By the time I was old enough to think about it, I knew it was all nonsense.
not exactly. i have certain faiths related to christian but not religious.
in many polls here, most are christian here, same as in English countries. i. r. l.
I am religious, that's why I will not sign up to one of the existing ones.
I see Jesus as my authorized teacher, and God as the one pulling all strings.
Middle men (or women) are suspicious to me - even if they are well-meaning.
I am a Catholic Christian and I pray from time to time asking God to forgive me
You could just go to Confession.
@BCRanger10 Yes of course, but if I don't have a priest available in the meantime, I can ask God for mercy at that time, then when the time is right I can go to confession.
Where are you?
I grew up in a religious family but I tend to be more spiritual than religious. I still do the holidays tho. I grew up Catholic
I also celebrate Christmas and Easter as purely secular holidays, eggs, presents, etc 🐰🐣 🎁 🎄 no acknowledgements of christianisms uh uh. I'd cringe 😬
And I forgot Santa and Easter bunny I love those, forget Jesus or Moses or other biblical figures old or new or other religions, its just eggs, chocolate, presents, 🐰 🧑🏻🎄 to me. Secular Christmas secular Easter, happily for a long time now I have delightfully devilishly 😈
I am only interested in the histories of the various religions.
I was christian and after Muslim now i don't believe is there religion i just believe is there god upstairs
And i never been religious in any religion
Eh. . . I believe in God. I believe in absolute morality and that things are ordered, but I don't hitch my wagon to any specific creeds or religions beyond that.
Christian, specifically traditionalist Catholic. I pray daily and attend Mass at least weekly.
No. I await the first religion to demonstrate magic and that is the religion I will eagerly follow. But so far all have come up short.
sounds like "i will wait to believe evolution until i see a human born from an ape" decided something you know won't happen.
liar! "tailed apes begot untailed apes begot human" in fancy words australopithicus. pithicus means ape.
@strateguy632 Trying too hard to divine meaning from words chosen nearly at random by people long dead is a religious thing. The theory of evolution does not claim that humans came from apes - rather, that they share common ancestors.
But this information is not only freely available but also widely known. There is almost no chance this is the first opportunity you've had to correct your misunderstanding. This suggests you are misunderstanding on purpose. So, no matter what I say you're going to continue to cling to your misunderstanding. And so there is no longer a possibility of this conversation being productive.
pithicus means ape. atheists have no morality!
@strateguy632 that's what religious people tell themselves to cover up what massive hypocrites they are, yeah..
Relationship with My Father... And His Son. xxoo
I'm a pragmatist first and empiricist second.
I'm not a materialist.
I am an observant Christian. Not sure what Religious means.
I am religious, and am non denominational pagan.

Yes, I pray at least once a day and attend church weekly
