I don't believe in mythological beings invented by the minds of an insignificant, primitive, goat herding tribe from the Saudi desert.

At your age, you will find out soon enough I suppose. 7.5 years from now for an average lifespan. That’s like 2016 til now. Wow. Good luck.

Nor do I. Atheist to the core. I presented it more as a metaphysical argument. As well as an alternate interpretation for Bible thumpers.

@Jersey2 What are he and I going to find out? That that's the end? That there is no God? That you get one ticket and you need to punch it yourself? I will never understand how humanity clings so tightly to its wubby blanket rather than grow up and face facts. Never.

I don't know if there is an afterlife or not. I doubt it, but I guess I'll find out when it happens. Will my pets meet me there, too?

I don't know if there's a Heaven and a Hell, but if there is, God is a dick. What sane parent would sentence their child to eternal torture, especially for merely not worshiping him properly. Fucking narcissistic psychopath.
In fact, what kind of all-knowing, all powerful being would create a system that set his children up to fail and then punishes them for it?

There might actually be a benevolent force guiding the universe and looking after humans. If there is, I have nothing to worry about. So I don't.

Excellent point! In the Old testament God acts like a petulant spoiled child.

also, an omnipotent god that could change anything and everything and knows how everything that ever has been and ever will would come to be even before the universe even started, but somehow, you know, free will.

oh, and the #1 thumper stumper: why did a good, omnipotent god make the devil?

@DJRiddle there's no morally right reason for such a good to create beings for their suffering in the first place. Like I can not come up with any interpretation of creation that makes a theoretical god look good.

"Lucifer" being Satan is a New Testament idea. Satan is "The Accuser" - the concept is he brings up all you do wrong and makes you feel horrible for it. As a spiritual entity, he wants to destroy you. Stuff like genocide, priests and pastors abusing little kids, religious persecutions, that's stuff that's Satanic. Christianity teaches that God didn't abandon us and in fact took on human form to experience human suffering. So the meme is basically substituting "Lucifer" for Jesus.

Well, from a Jewish perspective, HaSatan isn't evil and doesn't defy God. Satan is Hebrew for “opponent” or “adversary,” and sometimes regarded as a heavenly prosecutor or accuser. He tests God's people. As told in the Book of Job.

Overall, HaSatan is subordinate to God, he can not do anything without permission, carrying out his purpose on Earth. There's also the view that he isn’t real at all, but is merely a metaphor for sinful impulses (the yetzer hara).

It actually makes sense when you apply what we have long known about humanity. When it comes to war, it is the victors who write the history books.
God’s side won and he saw to it that the book characterized the Morningstar very darkly. Ell oh ell!

If that was true then he wouldn't have manipulated Eve and Adam into eating from the tree in the garden of Eden and getting them kicked out of it to live a life of suffering.

It's also pretty well established in the bible that Lucifer was rather jealous and coveted gods throne and power.

I don’t believe it is an accurate representation. The problem with this is that if there is an eternal God, his attributes have to be completely moral and completely perfect. This would mean if he was defective in anyway he could not be God. That would mean, if Lucifer felt that God abandoned humanity, which which is not the case, he would have not understood the other factors at play and felt that he knew best and then rebelled.

Have you READ the old testament? God is neither perfect nor moral!!! He's a violent narcissist with every box ticked for a textbook sociopath!

    Just like Lucifer Morningstar did.
    Good work, Detective. 😏😉

Jokes aside, let me think... Hmmm...
I'd say pretty much, yeah. It makes sense.
And he lives inside all of us.

An interesting idea, but nevertheless a mistaken one, and for the simple reason that the only mention of Lucifer in the entire Bible is actually a reference to the king of Babylon, not Satan.

In the Bible it talks about Lucifer being pretty jealous and also him being the progenitor of the first sins. I don't think if all this Christian crap is real that Lucifer is going to really like us or anything else connected to Yahweh.
