There are tons of videos on YouTube which proves that all religions are same and everyone knows this. Then why are we still fighting, go for wars?

Simple. Because for one thing, these videos are wrong. All religions are in fact NOT the same. In fact, they don't even share the same external elements and trappings, let alone core beliefs. It doesn't take a scholar to know that.

And second, the idea that all wars are due to religion is historically uninformed. Wars have been fought over or influenced by territorial disputes, money, resources, tensions between ethnicities, and simple bloodlust and conquest. And no, just because a military or national leader might say "... and by the grace of x-god, we shall emerge victorious" does not make it a religious conflict. Nor does the national or predominant religion of a given country or people being at war.

And lastly, is war seriously the worst thing that humans can do with each other?

First I think it's a fallacy to say that most modern wars are fought over religion. There are actually very few religions going to war against each other and typically it's the same offenders.

Next, I personally think that most monotheistic religions spawned from a single source and splintered out. For example Islam, Judaism and Christianity can all be traced back to Abraham. And they argue over the big differences that triggered the split.

Finally, the real reason for the war has nothing to do with religion. It's actually, blood grudges which started over resources. But evil men use religion to mask their desire to take riches with religion. People will sacrifice their life for spiritual matters not riches.

We know for a scientific fact that megafloods occurred throughout the world, although not all at the same time. We also know they would have been witnessed by people. It's not unreasonable to assume theses were the basis for the various flood stories you see in religion.

Lots of claims in the Torah (Old Testament) were obviously "borrowed" from older, more sophisticated cultures.

And there are a half dozen gods predating Jesus who were born of virgins, were killed and rose from the dead after three days.

People fight each other over the most ridiculous points of dogma. "My God's better than your God." "God likes me best."

Christians even fought each other over what day to celebrate Easter.

Because those wars are not over belief or religion. But people are fucking stupid and don't understand it's politics, profit and ambitions they are killing for.

You cannot kill people to increase your congregation, dead people are boring to talk to. Also, you cannot supress people and demand them to believe, that is not how belief works.

So it's no surprise people who talk "wars of religion" get laughed at, and dismissed out of hand.

The stories may be the same but the gods and traditions are different. The Abrahamic religions all worship one god, while the polytheistic religions worship demons. The Hindu and Taoist gods for instance exist in Christianity too, but as demons. So it makes sense why they have to make offerings to keep them happy
