What is the purpose of life?

I never met anyone who didn't worship something. Literally nobody.

We were created to have a personal relationship with a loving God and then our being got corrupted and the worship we should give to God got directed at something else. Sports teams, actors, science, false gods and people in "power", Oprah.

Inevitably, those things fail us and we shift allegiance over time.

But everyone worships something.

Maybe it's your car. You religiously vacuum it and polish it once a week - usually on a Sunday - so it looks perfect.

Maybe it's sex. You give yourself over to hedonistic pursuits as often as you can find someone willing to do it with you or as often as you can log into lonely fans.

It could be going to gym. "My body is a temple" - but it never hits you who that "temple" is dedicated to.

The purpose of Life is to have a meaningful relationship with the one who created you. Nothing more, nothing less.

Everything else is a hollow counterfeit.

Your car will break down. Your body will age and die. You'll never fully satisfy your sexual lusts. No actor has feet of iron - they all have feet of clay. False gods are all inherently selfish, whether they be inanimate objects or something we refer to as "spiritual" in nature. It's all about taking from you.

Find a way to the only Person who does nothing but give and you'll have found the purpose of Life.

And it'll last for eternity.

Also the purpose of this life is to fall in love with a man whom you will love forever, get married and make a beautiful happy family together...

There is not one single purpose in life. Each of us has the capacity to define a purpose for our life, or to live a life without a defined purpose.

Many years ago, I determined that my purpose should be to try, every day, to be a better person than I was yesterday. That means I remind myself to be tolerant of other people, I try to do things to make other people's lives more comfortable, I try to always be a gentleman, and I try to expand my knowledge and understanding of the world.

That works for me because I feel happy at the end of the day when I reflect and realize that I accomplished my goal on that day. But it probably wouldn't work for everyone else. You need to decide what you must do with your life to find happiness and peace, determine a course of conduct for accomplishing that, and then begin implementing your plan.
