Depends on who you ask. Existentialists, Nihilists, and Absurdists all say life has no true meaning for humans to follow, Christians say it’s to serve their God and do well by others, capitalists say it’s to work and make money to buy, buy, buy, artists say it’s to follow your passion and create, scientists say it’s to understand the universe in every aspect, Buddhists say it’s to reduce as much suffering as possible, it’s all pretty varied.


Ultimately, no one will disagree with the idea that if you cannot discern the meaning of life on your own, you can make one up. There are plenty of authorities on the subject, including yourself.

The purpose of life varies from person to person. It could mean giving your all to serve the people around you or to serve God. It could mean nothing at all. It could mean to find the love of your life and procreate. That what's so special about life is that there are all kinds of ways to define what the meaning of life is to you!

And that's the real purpose - just enjoy the ride y'all as in, like Eddie Murphy's acceptance speech recently or last year, pay taxes, mind your business, and that other thing about being polite :P
