Have you ever had a religion or faith and then turned your back on it for good?
Not to embrace another religion, but to give up on religion in general.

Yeah. Was raised pentecostal and believed it firmly but slowly it dawned on me that absolutely no one else was acting like they believe any of it, despite what they say. There was no sacrifice or any following of the teachings of Jesus. It was 100% needy people looking for someone to save them from the consequences of their own choices, not so they could change, but so they could go on making those choices.
I tried other adjacent religions but everyone was the same everywhere and it came as one of the worst realizations ever to figure out we are alone. There is no magic. It was all in our imagination because it's what we wanted to imagine. We are a self aware mixture of slime and dirt living in a random and indeterminate universe in which abject terror ought to be the default and the only certianty is death.
When I was about 7 or 8! I was going to a religious school my first 4 years. We went to church every Sunday and I just sat there squirming around, yawning my head off, not listening to ANYTHING the pastor was saying!! I couldn't WAIT to get the hell out of there!! I was already asking logical questions about it! "If god exists, why are there bad people?" "Why are people starving?" "Why does god allow bad things to happen, especially to good people?" Of course, all the answers were made up bullshit and lies!
i used to be kinda christian when i was a kid, but at about 8 or 9 i stopped believing in god. was i guess atheist or agnostic for a couple years then got into some sort of spiritual stuff in middle school. was 15 when i stopped believing in anything supernatural at all and became an atheist for good
No, I've never given up and never will!! The Lord is worthy of all our honor and praise!! ♥️ I love my Lord

Yes, that happened to me when I was around 22. I grew up Catholic, I couldn't think of myself as a believer of any other religion. However, I saw how my life was turning, started thinking about the world and I realized that I was actually Agnostic.
I respect other people's religious beliefs as long as they respect my irreligion.
Not really. I mean, I kind of toyed around with being agnostic earlier in high school, but there wasn't really an intellectual or logical foundation to it. As far as I can remember, I was just trying to look and sound cool and edgy. It didn't really even last that long.
There was a time about ten years ago that I was tempted to skip Sunday Mass the next morning, but I didn't.
Those two are about the closest I've come.
@stratford
Given up? I've never ever started, nor have any intentions of ever doing so either
I don’t like my preacher but that doesn’t mess with my relationship with the Lord. Some people believe in God and are not even in a religion/denomination
Never will give up my Jesus Christ lord and savior
Amen to that! 🙌🏾
I use to be religious but now I don't believe in it
When you know your belief is true and when you are a strong believer in hell and heaven, and when you truly believe that nothing is possible without your the will of your Creator, such thoughts do not even cross your mind.
I bought into that shit til I was about 8-9. It's just bat shit crazy.
No, I still believe in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Nope, and wouldn't
I believe in God, forever
Yeah I did that when I was like 10 years old
The opposite I was raised atheist, now I'm a polytheist
always been agnostic
No. I haven’t.
No, I have not.
Not a consideration.
I was never dumb enough to join a cult

I am strict on my religion, never change
