By missionaries, there were two early churches, the Celtic Christian church and the Catholic Christian Church. The early church in Britain originated from Ireland, this is where the early missionaries arrived and from Ireland moved to Iona in Scotland and from there into England. At a later date Christians from the church in Rome arrived and started missionary work in the south of England. The best evidence points to the 4th Century as the arrival of Christianity to Britain. There are reports of 1AD as well.

Please take into account the difference between Roman Catholicism and Christianity. The crusades and other violent activity were done by the RCC, not Christians. I read in a book that the RCC has murdered more people than communism, Islam, and National Socialism (NAZI) combined.

And yet he was killed brutally by the Romans and Christianity was looked at as a tiny cult. That's historical fact. Christianity didn't spread worldwide until Constantine and the Empire spread it. Because Romans forced people to accept it. The Celtic cross came from romans spreading Christianity/catholicism to places like Ireland. Who were all pagans. Same as the British.

also - the whole modern world is secular but not secular. It is "In God We Trust", but "God" isn't the Jewish idea of god, it's nature. I'm other words the modern world was built on a reverence for measurable natural laws (physics), NOT divine revelation. the modern world is ANTI religion, separation of church and state.
