Apparently the mundane day to day laws of the Torah have a 60% overlap with Ancient Athenian law. Calling into question both the antiquity and divinity of the laws. And when the Torah says the Jews took the promised land, Egypt was there, not Philistines. A new theory by a peer reviewed scholar Russell Gmirkin puts the creation of the laws of Moses in the Hellenistic era, after 320 BC when Alexander conquered Persia. He says they read Plato's dialogue where he says the ideal city would backdate their laws and give them a divine origin. Unfortunately there is no way to show the Torah is nearly as ancient as it claims since it was transmitted orally for centuries, or so they say.

Hardly need but the promised land had been lost by Egypt to the philistines during the Bronze age collapse. The bronze age collapse was the collapse of various powerful civilisations in the Mediterranean and middle east due to a series of major disasters that occurred like volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, volcanic winter, tidal waves, famine, pandemics and invasions by the sea people's.

The sea people's are said to be the philistines. They are mentioned many times in ancient Egyptian sources and it is said that after defeating them, the Egyptian used them as mercenary soldiers and settled them in canaan. None of the other civilisations survived except Egypt but Egypt was never as rich or as powerful again as in previous times.

The Hebrews had escaped to Egypt as a small number of interconnected families and prospered and their numbers grew. As a threat to the Egyptians they were enslaved and the Egyptian economy depended on them. The Hebrews would not have been able to set up the new kingdom of Israel or escape Egypt if not for the Bronze age collapse.

Also, the Jews have been landless for longer than they have been in one land. So it's even more suspect that they could all be from the same "people" as most Israeli's claim.

The only time Egypt was anywhere CLOSE to that far east was in 1973. Their ancient counterparts, however, made mention of Israel as an established, thriving nation in 1000 BC, so Moses would also have had to invent time travel.

Ok so all of the oral tradition wasn't fabricated. That doesn't mean the laws weren't updated when the Septuagint was made. The greeks made no mention of copying israel
