Definitely for traditionally inclined people and fundamentalists. It's not seen as a bad thing to much of everyone else. It might not be realistic for neither women nor men to live this out without significant modern day trade offs such as living a frugal/possibly struggling life (if both are relying on one person's income) and the rejectio of the of modern comforts but if it's a deterministic life with much for much on what it's about so it might strike a fancy!

Not the case. The bible is not against saints. Saints are venerated as an example to follow and to remember the sacrifices Christians made. The only glory is in their work and sacrifices in the name of jesus Christ.

This is what the Bible says about Saints, as Biblical Saints are different from Catholic Saints.
The idea of the word “saints” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. There are three references referring to godly character of saints: "that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints …" (Romans 16:2). "For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). "But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints" (Ephesians 5:3).

Therefore, scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints. All Christians are saints—and at the same time are called to be saints. First Corinthians 1:2 states it clearly: “To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy…” The words “sanctified” and “holy” come from the same Greek root as the word that is commonly translated “saints.” Christians are saints by virtue of their connection with Jesus Christ. Christians are called to be saints, to increasingly allow their daily life to more closely match their position in Christ. This is the biblical description and calling of the saints.

How does the Roman Catholic understanding of “saints” compare with the biblical teaching? Not very well. In Roman Catholic theology, the saints are in heaven. In the Bible, the saints are on earth. @Daniela1982 I think St. Paul best answers this question. In Colossians 1:1-2, as we saw above, Paul definitively refers to all of the faithful at Colossae as “saints.” (The Greek hagioi is comparable to sancti in Latin, meaning “sanctified,” “set apart,” or “holy.”)

From a Catholic perspective, we would say of course Paul would refer to these Christians, and by allusion all Christians, in this way because “being set apart and made holy” is precisely what baptism accomplishes in the life of every Christian. We “have been baptized into Christ Jesus” (Rom. 6:3), who is the source of all holiness.

But here’s the rub: the Catholic Church also acknowledges what Colossians 1:12 says:

@gwendoline But the Christians do not pray to their saints as they have no power to answer prayer, only God does. But the Catholics do the opposite, like asking Mary to pray for them, or praying to her directly. She was like the rest of us, sinners, so she has no special powers, even though the earthly mother of Jesus.
