What do you think of this bible idea about disadvantage?

Genesis teaches that bad luck comes to you when you take advantage of others.

The reverse is also true, good luck comes when you support and benefit others.

Some are only punished after they die and never receive more than tiny punishments while they are alive.

The old testament talks a lot about god blessing his people when they obey his rules. I think it's important to remember that in the book of Job it was his righteousness that brought him his hardships though. So I don't think the old testament teaches that all bad things that happen to you are punishments from god.

Things change a lot in the new testament. Where hardships are almost seen as a blessing from god. In Mathew 19:23 Jesus talks about how it's almost impossible for a rich man to go to heaven. In Romans 9:20-21 Paul implies that god will use some people for great things and some people for not so great stuff. In Romans 8:28 Paul talks about how god can use are disadvantages for good.

I think this is a better way to look at things. I like it when James says in James 1:2 that we should count it all joy. I

I believe Job suffered, not for his righteousness but for being righteous in his own eyes. I know extremely virtuous people that view themselves as worth less villains. I find even when some body is very rich in good deeds, if they are righteous in their own eyes, they are punished rather than rewarded for being righteous. So jobs sin was pride? I guess his friends were right. That is an interesting take on Job. Despite his pride he was given back twice of everything he had. Granted only after god told him off. I enjoyed this chat too, and thanks!
