Why does religion make so much sense to so many people?

I can't understand how anyone can take seriously the idea that there is a god that really exists. Like... how can anyone really believe that man was made from clay and that woman was made from the rib of the man who was made from clay? Is there some metaphor behind this or do they believe it literally?

It makes more sense to believe everything came from something than everything came from nothing, even scientifically that makes no sense, what I believe in has an answer to the creation of everything and even tho many things may seem illogical to some (which also makes sense I don't expect Gods power to be logical) it makes far more sense to believe everything that exists, including our logic comes from something else that exists, everything within our logic in our universe has a cause to that effect, if there's a cause there's a creator that creates the effect, even science itself supports that the odds of everything in existence falling into place so perfectly to create existence on its own is highly unlikely to nearly impossible, the chances of life are actually far unlikely, just human life has a chance of 1 in 400 million and did you know they recently discovered that the woman's egg chooses what sperm cells to fertilize, to believe the way that and the rest of the human body is designed was just an accident is unlikely, the way we feed plants with what we exhale, they feed off that and exhale what we need, do you believe these types of patterns in life are really an accident or a powerful mind was behind it, cause for me it's far easier to believe a brighter mind created everything.

1, because religion provides many helpful ideas including the explanations about how the world and life STARTED.

2, god, why not?

3, Christian believed in book genesis that "god made man from clay" or dust because god can shape n change it.

4, why can't god make a lady from flesh or bone from a man? So most Christians believe it literally.

In contrast i am relatively a "heretic about old testament stuff" and i do interpret much of genesis especially the first stories chapters 1 to 37 as "fables" like "bitter grapes" not a recorded history some "wolf actually jumped."

With christianity specifically it’s less about the mythology and more about the community. As with many cults such as christianity, Pokémon, and Apple products, there’s more to it than just the single thing on offer. Besides, there’s a very real comfort in believing that being a good person will reward you in whatever stage of existence comes after living.

Nope, because now science knows dirt or clay is a complex molecule. so the claim is, "simple hydrogen got attached."
