Have you ever gone through a period of religious desolation according to the Bible?

The book of Daniel says that religious emptiness or spiritual desolation is part of the developmental process of growing into a mature spiritual person and that it will happen to all who have reached certain level of growth or improvement in their lives.

I went through a period of desolation sometime shortly after the pandemic in 2020 where I could feel other emotions but the level of connection I had to the spirit was tapered or limited. I had periods of faith and religion during that desolation period but it wasn't in every day event like it was when I was doing my degree.

But the bible says repeatedly, sometimes God fakes His absence to reform or test you. And other times it is a consequence of disobedience or immaturity by limited growth in your life.
