I was raised Catholic and had frozen fish sticks every Friday. I don't think my parents were crazy about fish and I don't know why my mom didn't make fresh fish. My parents were mid-westerners and I know my mom's dad and brothers used to go fishing and bring home freshwater fish for dinner during the Great Depression.

I'm no longer religious and, frankly, I love seafood. Eating it isn't a sacrifice.
I would be happy to have it every Friday during Lent, but I don't limit myself to Fridays and I don't pay attention to Lent.

Occasionally. I'm not much for just plain fish, unless it's maple-coated salmon. There are also burger patties made from salmon that my wife often gets from Costco. That's a good Friday staple here.

In general though, I'll have something else that's meatless on Fridays. I usually have cheese pizza.

No. Greeks do a serious "no meat, no dairy" fast for 40 days. The one day we are allowed to have fish and chips is March 25th in honor of the annunciation.

I sometimes eat fish every day of the week, but I don't limit myself to only fish on Fridays. I was raised Catholic and no longer practice.

Interesting trivia. The early Christian church established the only-fish-on-Friday rule to help support fishermen, who returned to port with their catch after fishing all week.

I did. I lived in South Boston for years. Not catholic but cultural tradition. Many fishermen were catholic and we supported them. Love grilled Grouper steaks
