Spiritual realms are real which we currently coexist in, and afterlife is real before the human individual soul reincarnates as a lot of scientific studies show to be the case,

but the terms heaven and hell aren't limited to spiritual realms. Better add "-on earth" to both of them, to somewhat grasp what jesus taught. If you're selfish you will create hell on earth. If you're compassionate you will create heaven on earth. Although the time between death and rebirth is another important point, and your soul's existence when it breaks free from reincarnation, that's probably more than you asked for.

You do not remember spiritual experiences outside this physical realm because your sense of "I" has not learned to transcend the physical body. Developing the sense of "I" is the purpose of living this physical life. By feeling compassion for others you take a step toward strengthening your soul to maintain conscious awareness even when outside this physical body.

Otherwise you become unconscious or vaguely dreamy, just like you are during dreams hardly in control of the spiritual realm you are dreaming about. We even used to all be part of the same soul having the same dream at once. This will keep happening until you develop a sense of individuality through physical life and then use the individuality to transcend via compassion.
