He is the first American Pope which I find pretty cool being American myself.

He also doesn’t hold back on criticism, standing against President Trump’s immigration policy and not being the biggest fan of Vice President JD Vance.

I believe this Pope is able to speak his mind and serve those of Catholic faith well also make a lot of people proud of the work ahead. I wish him success in this new role.

I doubt if many people care one way or the other. Most people couldn't care less about the pope regardless of where he's from.

It's kind of interesting though. With the last two popes they are obviously trying to be more "worldly" instead of just European.

Criminals store their money in Vatican banks in the form of donations which are hidden from the tax and revenue ministries of the governments. The Mafia are not as they used to be during The Godfather film days, they have transitioned into corporations politics and legitimate businesses and not gangsters anymore. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. All Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholic. Christianity is a broad term referring to the religion based on the belief in Jesus Christ. Catholicism is one specific denomination or branch within Christianity.

And a fair number of Christians myself included have issues with the catholic church.
