How do you feel about new pope?

Vatican City cardinals just elected a new pope. American cardinal Robert Prevost. He chose the name Leo XIV.

He's the first ever American and North American pope, the second ever pope from the New World (after Francis) and the second ever pope whose native language is English (after Adrian IV - the Englishman who was the pope in the XII century).

I like him, he gave me a good first impression. To what they said he's going to help the poor but still keep tradition like a mix of conservatism and our previous pope Francois.

In France he's called Leon XIV though it seem in France and English language the name change.

He's not who I wanted, but ultimately, I'm not quite as pessimistic as my fellow conservatives and traditionalists are. We could have gotten a lot worse. A. LOT. Worse. He's a "wait and see" type of situation.

I had not heard of him before (apparently he only became cardinal in 2023), but good to see a "younger" guy in that office. Therefore there is a chance to keep this pope for the next 20 years.
