WWhy indians hate muslims?

I'm a Muslim Indian and I kind of understand the Islamophobia In India.

We can see the Mumbai Taj hotel attack, and more recently Pahalgam attack. Then statistically Muslims were responsible for 95% rape cases in India in 2016 (I don't know if it's true, but I won't be surprised if it is) which we can also justify by looking at rape cases in Pakistan.

And tbh there are also many Muslim people i personally hate, I hate those Muslims who use religion as excuse for their behaviour. Those who use it to leverage their sexist thoughts and misunderstand most of the Quran.

Personally I or my family doesn't follow islam really strictly, nor do do we closely engage with people who follow any religion super super strictly and make it their whole identity without even understanding the depth of it.

Because if you need religion to be a 'good' person, then you're not a good person by yourself. Even worse when you use religion to cover up your immoral acts.

But being Islamophobic is unfair too, it's unfair for me and it's unfair to thousands of other Muslims who don't have any intention to harm anyone. I was bullied for my religion when I was a child, I had to literally lie about my religion and say that I'm Hindu so that I could talk to other kids because when they heard my name, they would make face as if I'm disgusting and ask my religion.

I was always made to feel ashamed for my religion. And it's disgusting how deeply Islamophobia is ingrained in the minds of people that they teach their kids the same thing.

One of my little cousin's classmate, who's in 2nd grade by the way, was saying 'I hate Muslims, I kill Muslims' when he discovered that my little cousin was Muslim.

I'll say I understand the anger against Muslims, but I really despise it. I believe that people in general, around the world, should broaden their mind and understand things for a fresh perspective. The same applies for the super conservative Muslims who's are usually (not always) responsible for all disturbances.

Thankfully I'm treated way better nowadays, people don't mind me being Muslim in my school at all because that's not my identity. It's complex to explain my beliefs, I believe in God but not in religions. But I really do respect people who are atheist or religious as long as they don't use it as a tool to be a nuisance in society.

However sometimes I feel unconfident in certain situations due to the trauma the past gave me. No child should be made to feel different than others in any circumstances.

Generally Hindus and Christians, both tend to be islamophobic, you can see that a lot in America and Europe as well. However, given India's history, it is more strong amongst indians.

@Hassaniscool Many Indians are muslims and many non&Muslims actually have muslims as their good friends, colleagues even life partners and even celebrate festivals together. So, it's not true that most Indians hate muslims.

Those who dislike Muslims are still holding onto the past and have been brainwashed by some political parties who used religion as their vote bank politics and some Muslims that have problems with with Non-Muslims don't like them for the same reasons

it's not really a matter of nationalities... some people just hate other people, and even hate each other back and forth...

and this does happen all over and around the world, with some people only... not entire nations

Due to muslim agression in kashmir. And violent harmful attacks against hindu religious places and people. If muslims would stop violence, then those people in india who hate, not all hate, but those who do, would stop hating muslims.

In contrast the reason muslims hate people who reject muhamed... is not any harmful action.
