Are our paths in life decided by us or does the path choose us?

I make my own choices, but the more I reflect on my life I see this life chose me, actually God chose me for this path.

Correct the general direction of events is probably predetermined and predestined in destiny. But we still can choose minor stuff including keep the speed limit or speed... i can't say "i was destined to speed so i can't be blamed".
