Trending & News This is the reason why i don’t like organized religions… in my religion back where i’m from (i dont practice anymore), people would do similar things, the stakeholders of the worshipping site would take the money, claim they use it to rebuilt the facility and for charity… and guess what they used that money on themselves
As if you were the accountant?
@strateguy632 Lol sure sure keep pouring your hard earned money to support your religion, it’s your money, waste it however you want
I don’t think the good lord cares about our earthly money
Only greedy priests do.
(A deadly sin ironically)
I don’t mind contributing because it does help keep the place running
But saying I HAVE to do it every week is pushing it
It’s part of the reason I don’t go to churches anymore.
I would rather my faith not be used to control and exploit me
You are half right. God doesn't need the money but church operations are not free electric etc.
If you were a member of a country club and attended it weekly would you not chip in for refreshments and fund the organization. If you value its existence then yes.
I'm not religious in the slightest, but occasionally I would attend my grandmother's church. She gave tithes her whole life, well, religiously. The extension to the church has STILL never been built. Odd, real odd...
Maybe it isn't crowded.
@strateguy632 They literally have a board up which shows you how many are in attendance each week, and you can also see it on their website. We're not talking about a massive 2 story building extension--it's a one room extension that hasn't been built in at least 20 years, and my grandmother has passed on now---where is that money going to exactly? You can't find out, because they don't disclose this information which is a huge point of contention at that church according to my uncle who used to attend as well.

FU*K NO! Save your money. All the churches that accept money (Catholics, Mormons, JW cultists) already have BILLIONS (with a “B”) in assets! They have got more money then they could hope to spend— Also, They should ALL lose tax free status, because I think they’re far too comfortable in NOT having to demonstrate why or how they offer the betterment of society, and should be called into question, to show that they’re doing good in the neighborhood to keep their tax status with the states.
You’d be effectively paying your bully and jailer. Screw them. That’s when it turns from a faith, to a business.
I would never gift money to any religious organization. All too often they are beggars and scammers selling Sunday entertainment for donations. Just hand the homeless guy on the street $20 and be done with it. It's probably more honest than the phony bastard preaching morality from his church pulpit while he's fondling altar boys and fucking the lonely wives in his congregation.
Wadya mean 'if you are a member'? If you ATTEND you wanted to participate so keep it running... These are non profit so you can get a receipt and tax deducted too. ... We each spend hundreds each month for restaurant food but we don't 'have enough to spare' to keep the church you visit running!
You should always contribute to the collection plate whenever you go to church, but I wouldn't call that tithes.
I do with my uncles church when I've gone because I actually know exactly what that money is being used for.
Give what you can when you can. Most people don't get paid every week.
Give what you can even as little as a dollar
For someone who doesn't buy any luxuries but it would be selfish to buy luxuries and pretend i don't have enough to give to the church i wanted to visit!
Yes, according to what you're able to.
Probably if you can afford them.
I'm not a member of any church.
F that
