Do Catholics tell each other and kids "if you don't go to church you go to hell"?

I saw an episode of everybody loves Raymond that had this. Ally was told you gotta go to church, so you won't go to hell. She then drew a picture of Raymond in hell. Was that just part of the comedy fiction? Or do catholic teach "not saved from hell" unless go to church every week?

I can only speak for myself. I've never told anyone that they're going to Hell, nor have I heard anyone say so. I've had other so-called Christians tell me I'm going to Hell for being Catholic though.

My wife was raised Catholic and it was the nuns that used to say that.
