They are. In fact, they were the very first. It even says so in the Bible (i. e. "And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church" - Matthew 16:18). St. Peter was the very first Pope.

Largely because of ignorance.
For one thing, they will claim that Catholics don't read, study, or know the Bible. This is false because it was the early Church Fathers and councils who complied and defined the biblical canon.
I've often asked where it's explicitly stated that all matters of faith, morals, and practice must be clearly and explicitly found in the Bible. My next question then would be where does it say that all this must be read and understood in light of modern vernacular understanding and thinking? I have yet to receive a satisfactory answer to either question.
So there's that. Some will claim that Catholics worship Mary, the Saints, or anyone else who is not Jesus, which is also not true. For these two subjects, I'll link two MyTakes I've posted, Mary and the Christian Life and The Saints and the Christian Life
They may also make claims about the Eucharist, the priesthood and the papacy, and a host of others. The only other major one I can think of is the claim that the Catholic Church didn't actually start until the 4th Century. This is false though because Saint Ignatius of Antioch, a direct disciple if Saint John the Apostle, wrote of the Church being "Catholic" in his letter to the Smyrnaeans in AD 110.
So basically, the claim that Catholics aren't Christians is historically unsustainable.

Actually, Orthodox were first. But yeah, tell me about it. I had a prospective relationship end for exactly that reason. Her friend messaged me and said she dated a non-Christian once and it was hell for her. I told them, I'm Catholic, but apparently they aren't real Christians like you said. She was pissed 'cuz I told her people who constantly talk about Jesus are annoying. Protestants are so fucking stupid and give true Christians a bad name. And yeah, the sad part is, they came after Orthodox Christianity and Catholism, yet think THEY'RE the true Christians. I swear, Protestants are the WORST
Doesn't every Christian denomination claim all others aren't real Christians?
they aren't because the Vatican is run by Satanic cults

That "Catholicism" was good Catholicism, back then in the time of Peter, but today? Catholicism is a bit skewed, if not-- very. Things such as repenting to the father of the church is actually biblical, believe it or not, but these "fathers" of churches-- are they really fathers? Has God really called them to be priests, or was it just a title handed down to them, or even worse, a title they chose for themselves?
There's that and things like hail Marys'. Hail Marys' are demonic. It is written that she'll always be called 'blessed' for carrying the Lord in her womb but it didn't say she'll be prayed to, neither the saints.
There's just a lot of [weird] stuff that happens in Catholicism that proves it's drifted very far from Christ. I don't like it and I don't suggest anyone follow it. It's very religious and odd. If you're seeking Christ, just go to Christ and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the truth, to grow in His love and spiritual knowledge.
Where to start...
The "rock" Jesus is talking about wasn't Peter, but what Peter had said.
Jesus and His Disciples are talking about who He is. Jesus asks who they say He is and Peter replies that Jesus is the "Christ, the Son of the Living God". It's that revelation that the Church is built on rather than Peter himself. The King James uses the pronoun "thee" talking about giving the keys of the kingdom of heaven. "Thee" is a plural, not an individual pronoun. "Ye" would have been if it referred to him alone. Jesus was speaking to all the disciples, not only Peter.
As far as all Roman Catholics being Christians goes, it's not true. Some are, some aren't. Going to church on a Sunday doesn't make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage makes you a mechanic. Christianity is about a change in your heart that establishes a new relationship with God through Jesus (not Mary). It's not about religious dogma.https://www.google.com/search?q=difference+between+latter+day+saints+and+seventh+day+adventist+family+guy&client=firefox-b-1-d&sca_esv=582416077&channel=ftr&sxsrf=AM9HkKnhKGW6Gd7-zF7T-FWqEfRx6vjD2A%3A1700003358021&ei=Hv5TZcRyj6Om1A__07X4Dw&ved=0ahUKEwjE-ZWCzsSCAxWPkYkEHf9pDf8Q4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=difference+between+latter+day+saints+and+seventh+day+adventist+family+guy&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiSWRpZmZlcmVuY2UgYmV0d2VlbiBsYXR0ZXIgZGF5IHNhaW50cyBhbmQgc2V2ZW50aCBkYXkgYWR2ZW50aXN0IGZhbWlseSBndXlIvRdQxgJYoRVwAngBkAEAmAFWoAHaBqoBAjEyuAEDyAEA-AEBwgIKEAAYRxjWBBiwA8ICBhAAGBYYHuIDBBgAIEGIBgGQBgc&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:43d9387c,vid:alUzaMtvAPk,st:0
It's like asking what the difference is between a Methodist and a 7th day Adventist. They're all the same, just, a little tiny bit differentIt's because Catholics worship a prophet and idolize humans. And during confession when asking for forgiveness they meet with a persist and tell them their sins and the man forgives them.
They worship someone of flesh Jesus Christ who is consider a prophet, but he is a man. Like how Mohammed is a prophet and Allah is God which is a spirit.
In Christianity Jesus is a prophet and the Father is God who is a spirit and the persist is called Brother. Christians don't address their persist as father like the catholics do because only the holy spirit God l can be addressed the Father.
But in Catholic they treat a persist as a Father. You see the pattern? It's because humans are flawed, but idolize people as something great than they actually are. You see this in social media and modern day society.
The Christians don't believe in idolizing people because they aren't God. God can only forgive you not a persist or a Man.
Yeah Catholicism and Christianity started in the same plane and time but now they are very different.
Christians pray only to the God/the Holy Trinity and acknowledge that they're all sinners who are no better than anyone else. Christians also acknowledge that they can't earn their way into heaven /because/ they're sinners. A Christians only route to heaven is through Christ's mercy.
Catholics pray to the saints (dead catholics/Christians) for mercy/cleansing/favor. Catholics believe that mass makes them sinless and perfect. Also (at least during medieval times) Catholic priests claimed that they themselves had the power to forgive sins and would often require sums of money to do so. A Catholics route to heaven is through their own power and perfection.
I don't know I'm no expert but between the two I'd say Catholicism is pretty sus
They are anti-catholic bigots, and they make Illuminati conspiracy claims about Vatican thinking they are up to no good which we all know it is not true and outright lies. They did same thing to Jewish people, and made antisemitism comments on gap. com conservative social media. Chick Tract comic has anti-catholic stuff, and my mother gave it to me not knowing anything about it. I threw chick tract comic booklet away because I don’t like his opinion. That’s called defamation, we as Catholic Christian need to stand up against bigotry. I am a libertarian conservative Catholic Christian
your own source fails to support any of your claims. like "god is merciful as written jacob ate his son food" no support.
jesus never said peter was a pope, neither for job nor in name.
if peter was a pope and married then all popes should copy peter. the "very first" didn't do the characteristics of catholic.
that is like saying the "very first" nudists were British parliament. but British parliament are not nudists !

maybe... but if I go to the store and ask for the green apples
and if they do bring me red apples... I am not going the take them... I and might get upset the more they insist that I should take the red apples because green apples are still apples... lol Some believe Catholics worship Mother Mary and Saints. They sometimes obscure that scripture says that Jesus is the ONLY intercessor who can grant forgiveness. Not a priest in a phone booth. However, I still have one foot in the Church and the other as a PCA Presbyterian. But I don't like Calvinism, either.
I'm sure there are catholics that are real christians but just happend to be raised and brainwashed into the bs the catholic church teaches so many of them they are just stuck believing bs.
Now, the Catholic Church isn't christian nor of God at all. It's heretical. The Coptic church might disagree and claim to be first but clearly Catholic is a christian church. Protestants sort of see Catholic as being quite different though
Beats me. Every Catholic house of worship has at least one crucifix, with a statue of Jesus hanging from it.
Because Christians can't stand each other and so can't maintain a cohesive community without someone to hate.
Catholics go against the bible often, especially when it comes to praying to saints.
Little known FACT St. Peter wasn't a man but a rabbit. This was covered up by the church. Why do you think we eat chocolate bunnies on Easter. People are tired of all these lies hidden by the catholic church.
Because they are fucking imbeciles, and American through and through, the poor bastards.
I’m not a Catholic so I don’t have to pray 🙏 to a saint to have my prayers answered from God
Some people have nothing better to do with their time. They might also be NPC Non Practicing Catholics with a bone to pick.
Catholics worship Mary and the church believes you need a Catholic Priest (and only a Catholic priest) to confess and forgive sins instead of praying directly to Jesus.
I believe they are more religious. I am not sure though.
