There are too many to add a poll, nor would i want to miss any, so I will just read the comments and see who the "winner" is.
So what do you believe in?
Former Christian turned Deist about 10 years ago. Why did I quit Christianity? Two very simple reasons:
1) "God is not a man, nor the Son of Man." Numbers 23:19.
2) There are no true christians. They claim to believe in God, but violate all of Jesus and Moses' commandments every day of their lives anyway.
There is no correct "religion" as people too-often use the term. IN the Bible, the word "Religion" is specifically defined as "giving to widows, orphans, and the maimed," in James' epistle.
It is NOT about "church" and things done at church. IN fact, in Isaiah's book, God said he HATED solemn assemblies and that he was not going to do anything but hide his eyes from you if you lift your hands allegedly trying to worship him. He said again there, in Isaiah chapter 1, that if you wanted to be right with God you need to do good to widows and orphans. Neither Christians nor Jews obey their own prophet.
The average American does not give one cent to Widows and Orphans, but they do give 10% of their paycheck to fake pastors who are millionaires and even billionaires, and yet I only know of ONE church-run home for Widows and Orphans in the entire State of Louisiana, and it's not run by the richest church in town, it's actually run by one of the poorest churches in town.
you make solid points Even Jesus got steeming hot at the religious of the day. we are way off course. I wouldn't give up on Jesus, but on the version of it yes. It's ok to recognize we suck, we know it anyways and make effort to adhere. the world is absolutely corrupting... Christ knew that.
Jesus was God in man form
@888theGreat There is absolutely no rational reason for an Almighty Being to become or pretend to be a man. IF he is Almighty, he can teach people directly, and he can forgive sins directly, and sacrificing himself on a Cross does not add one thing to that.
The entire reason the Jews stoned and then crucified Jesus is recorded in the Christian portion of the Bible: Because he claimed to be God incarnate in the Flesh and claimed to have eye-witnessed Satan fall from Heaven.
it does make sense though... don't agree. how else do you relate to mankind? they don't listen... they are separated. the problem is in the corrupt heart. Jesus resolved that.
to come up with such a solution is beyond the brains of a bunch of people to concoct unless they were genius.
@lightbulb27 No it doesn't. Almighty is already Almighty. Besides, I already quoted on this thread an Old Testament prophet saying , "god is not a man nor a son of man."
Jesus claimed to be the Son of Man ten or eleven times in Matthew and Mark's gospels, but then he also claimed to be the Son of God and indeed God himself at the same time. You have to admit that contradicts Numbers 23:19, which is exactly what Jewish scholars point out to this day. The very first thing a Jew does when they debate a Christian is laugh and quote, "God is not a man".
interesting points. no, God is not a man. It all depends on how one views what was said. what he was trying to communicate, how it was written down. there's reason there are 23000 interpretations.
Each must determine their path, I'm ok with that.
I don't think Jesus came to make logical sense of everything. Came to reconcile the heart of mankind to God. To do that, have to break through some difficult barriers...
Jesus gave him legs and a mouth to communicate directly with man. Too bad you decided to be in Hell for eternity
@888theGreat If I go to hell for rejecting a provably false prophet, so be it.
How do you prove the Dalai Lama isn't God in the Flesh just because he claims to be? People have been claiming to be God-men for many thousands of years. There's nothing special about Jesus except he claimed to be a King and had no Kingdom. He's the worst God-man who ever lived, and they are all false.
I don't think you go to hell although that's what the Bible says, I think you regret leaving Christ when you face that time. That results in your spirit retaining the hell you chose. Seen that play over and over.
Satan was Lucifer in Angel form and he was cast out of Heaven because he thought he had better vision of how Heaven outta be. Satan also tempted Christ.
Bokononism is my religion.
Had to look that one up. A fake religion created by Vonnegut, huh? I guess there's those who believe every religion is fake so I will allow it. Jk lmao
@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 First tenet of Bokononism: "All religions are shameless lies, including this one."
Lol I saw that in my search. I like it!
@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 _Cat's Cradle_ is a really good book.
My beliefs are fairly eclectic and don’t really align with any one, singular belief system above all others. I believe in a great, unseen energy that flows at all times throughout the universe, I believe humanity and everything on earth is a part of that energy. That energy is the same feeling that encourages us to love and be kind to one another despite hierarchal differences. I also believe this energy can be manipulated and changed to bring new things and experiences or even just necessary things into your life. I believe through this energy we are all connected at every stage of existence, including before and after death. This honestly aligns with quite a few religious ideas: christianity, buddhism, witchcraft, etc.
When I tell people what religion I follow , I usually get this response:
Lmao
Well luckily for you, I am just about accepting of most religions as long as it doesn't become fanatical to the point where it harms others.
Besides, witches I know are some cool people so no issues there.
Worship the Quantum fields. Hard to burn, always been there, going to be there after, and will secure us and recycle us. That's probably more God anyways...
Ty for the MHO even if I get burnt at the stake! 🤣
Lol np and I will bring the fire extinguisher if anyone tries

I would describe my spiritual beliefs as a form of animism. I think animals, plants, inanimate objects, natural phenomena, and the universe itself possess a spiritual essence, soul, or consciousness.
Humans and other creatures are the universe observing itself.
I think the universe and everything in it is one infinite, constantly evolving organism, with no beginning or end.
I don't believe in a separate entity called God that controls it all or thinks humans are special.
Animism often focuses on the relationship between humans and the surrounding environment, viewing all things as interconnected.
The term is derived from the Latin anima, meaning "soul" or "life force".
It is often found in indigenous and traditional cultures, emphasizing reverence for the natural world and, at times, ancestral spirits.
It's obvious that animals have emotions but I think plants and even water are influenced by emotional stimulus, so I convey love, appreciation and gratitude to all things, sometimes verbally or with touch.
If you look at all the men or women that are ahead of a religious group church, what have you and you see how much money they have and how they live? And who they are, who they become to me, I can't believe in a person like that. It just keeps taking because they think they're worth it. Somehow , religion has become a business , and that's just not for me
But I do have faith, 100% I do, and I am very, very spiritual\n And I believe in gods energy frequency, my energy, your energy, your frequency, and when you understand that, and you become one with that person that's love, and that's the true meaning of Spiritual ality and God.\nHe goes deeper than that. You know what I mean
I’m not religious, per se. I recognize the order in the universe lends credence to the notion of intelligent design and i’m perfectly comfortable accepting even outlandish theories on faith unless and until better reasoned theories supplant them. In my experience and observations, too many people with no theory or lousy theories assume that they should be taken seriously when they’re challenging well established theories and dogmas. They’re often damaged people who think tearing down others’ faith will fulfill them in some way. It never does. I have seen more than a few find the fulfillment they were seeking in the very faith they once opposed. It’s funny, but also heartwarming.
I wish for everyone peace of mind. However they find it.
Christian... Christ, but I really suck at this point. Imagine more someone that ran joyfully towards the ocean to play, but fell in the mud. Spiritual failures... weak... Apostle Peter or worse. He died on the cross upside down... because wasn't worth of going right side up. I can relate.
Jesus is/was right. I'm in awe.
There's ups and downs I guess. I'm more joyful when I'm serving God and responding to people in need in the moment, emotionally. Caring for the emotionally down and connecting.
I think scientifically, that's sound as well as "Godly". Each to their own, we are not all the same and Jesus said that. Jesus makes sense to me... mostly.
I don't really like to say following a religion. To me religion has a legalistic and going through the motions vibe to it (church attendance) with a long checklist of things to do (works) But I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and believe He is the son of God, He is the savior of the world. He was beat and crucified on all of our behalf, He paid the price for the forgiveness of the sins of humanity and believing on Him is the only way you can be forgiven of your sins and avoid spending eternity in hell. That's what I believe in a nutshell
I was born and raised a Christian.
Didn’t get w choice in the matter.
As I grew older I became a lot more agnostic because I saw a lot of hypocrisy tied to all religions and a constant promise of good that only leads to bad.
Now a days I’ve become a lot more balanced about it.
Still a believer but also a free thinker (at my own risk)
You don't understand the concept of free choice. That life is a test and the final exam is how you lived your life and the reward is Heaven for the faithful and Hell the punishment for the ones that lose faith and decide the earthly life is better. They tend to be weak minded , not disciplined , and not long term focused.
If there is a god it certainly isn't benevolent. Some sort of overseer of an experiment perhaps? Denominations that go about warning others that they will be eternally incinerated in hellfire for having the audacity to have chosen (or had chosen by circumstance of birth) the wrong man imagined deity. Yeah... not for me so I suppose I will claim Agnostic. Can't possibly know whether or not there is a god, or what it's nature is.
I was raised Christian but started to play around with witchcraft online when I was a teenager because of Tumblr lol I considered myself to be a Christian Wiccan for a while, but now I'm just a Wiccan. My husband is an atheist.
None at all. When I was about 9 and learned that there are many religions and they all believe they have the truth and the others are wrong, but there's no evidence for any, I realized that they were all just fairy tales.
I'm agnostic myself
but I was born and raised Catholic in early years... till the Church had me cast out at the age of five... for asking way too many questions, lol
Well that is why. Catholics are members of the biggest cult ever created. They believe in actions only. Repetitive sayings and rubbing beads , worshipping Mary. Idols in their backyard. They are the voodoo religion of the West.
@888theGreat you just described Christian and Trumps... do you realize that...
I don’t follow any religion but also I am not ignorant of all the spiritual things
I believe I have my own god inside me and I believe in it
Agnostic.
Catholic church despises wisdom and knowledge, I despise dogmas and """god""" given authority.
I'm agnostic. When I was young and foolish I was an atheist. Now I realise I don't have anywhere near the information base required to be so definitive.
My uncertainty relates only to the question of what may or may not have caused the universe to come into being.
Atheist, but celebrate religious holidays for fun.
Gnosis, Buddhism and more into philosophical and social science/ sociology field.
Nope, all religions are bullshit for scared weaklings in my opinion. I'm an Atheist.
@Ez-Bri-Z_v2 I don't follow any religion. I do take yoga, and probably more favor Buddhism
I personally don't believe in religion or any other such dogma. Even agnostic and atheist are constructs of religion. I have faith in myself and rely on common sense.
I really do not claim a religion. I ma a Christian however.
I was baptised as a catholic , but I’m definitely not a practicing one
The Constitution of the United States of America!
Do you support Trump?
Born half Christian/ Hindu and I follow none. I do believe in a higher power... I wwould like to be more spiritual.
Where you feel peace it's a best religion because the religion which teach humanity is best religion in the world but be practical in life not blind religious person..
I'm not a theist, I think organized religion is bunk if I'm completely honest.
I remain Agnostic. Unlike Atheists I do not rule out possibility.

If you are going to assert that other people are wrong, you should be prepared to back up your claims. I always am.
I was Christian but turned Gnostic a few years back.
@hoolapu No
I was raised Baptist , but consider myself just Christian. .
Im a Muslim I might not be perfect but it’s the faith that I truly believe in
I'm a Catholic.
Sorry to hear that
@888theGreat why?
@888theGreat I'm not
I don't think Catholics have prayer (excuse the pun ) of making it into Heaven
Well only those that can get away from the Church , maybe death bed
@888theGreat Why is that?
Catholics for the most part do what the Bible says not to. Idols, worship Mary , engraven images of Jesus. Drink alcohol like sailors on leave.
@888theGreat Where did the Bible come from?
I’m a Christian woman

@KostasKouvalis Some of us are, especially in a heavily Catholic city such as Windsor, Ont.
Only Biblical christianity.
Hermetic thelema
Eastern orthodox
Aren't you Irish? That's surprising
