Since when did Sean Hannity become a biblical scholar and decide he knows more about the Bible than the Pope?

Oh, I've known for years that Sean Hannity has been entirely unreliable in his knowledge of and commentary on issues relating to the Catholic Church. And this was even before he became a formal apostate.

And this is also business as usual anyway, as many non-Catholics have attempted (and failed) over the centuries to "correct" the Church on Bible matters. So this is nothing new.

Now, in the interest of objectivity, popes have in fact erred in the past and been corrected. Contrary to popular belief, the pope is not absolutely infallible on every last thing he says or does. The most well-known case is that of Pope John XXII in the 14th Century...but with all that established...

...I wouldn't have to look far and wide to find instances of left-wingers who are secularists, atheists, heretics, and even some members of the Church (current and former) who have also themselves attempted, and again, failed, to challenge, "correct", condemn, demand changes to, or otherwise thumb their noses at popes and theologians who have spoken more clearly and firmly on matters like abortion, contraception, homosexuality, the nature of marriage, Marxism, socialism and other such matters. They have convinced themselves that Jesus Christ would have blessed every last jot and tittle of what they say, do, and think though, despite that Jesus said little to nothing about a lot of what they value.

Bottom line, even though a conservative (allegedly so, at least) might have said something dumb and uninformed about the Bible, the left is FAR from off the hook either.

You'd be surprised how often I have to inform them the bibles mosaic law endorses slavery and virgin kidnapping and rape. Or the old testament and Torah where you're not allowed to boil a lamb in its mothers milk, or how God himself performs abortions through a potion.

I don't know what Hannity's credentials are but perhaps I should point out that Catholics don't really follow the Bible and there's ongoing debate around whether they're really Christians at all.
