I just read a notice where someone stole a kid's toy from their back yard and they claim god saw them do it so, why not ASK god who took it?

If god really saw who took it and IS the bastion of all things good, honest and wonderful, why WOULDN'T god just go TELL them who stole it? If I saw someone stealing something I'd sure as shit tell the owner if not even stop the theft myself!! SURELY an all-powerful god SHOULD be able to stop such things from happening!! And, even if it didn't but still knew who took it, why would they keep it a secret from the owner? Either this god person can't be trusted and doesn't have your welfare in heart or it's not as great as people make it out to be!

Because most people are not worthy to hear any messages directly from god. If god would do what you said "stop such things from happening!" The *theif would not have choice.
