Why do I feel no wants or desires even though my life is going well?

I am a 25-year-old woman, and I’ve struggled with my emotions for most of my life. One thing I always promised myself was that I would become independent from my family. Nothing was ever handed to me because my family has always relied heavily on government assistance. My parents were never really present as parents, and my grandmother was the one who raised me.

I worked hard to put myself through college, earn my degree, and build a stable career on my own. Now I have a job that pays well, so money is no longer something I constantly worry about. I’m currently renting a room from a friend and their family because, even though I make good money, I don’t think it would be wise for me to get my own place right now.

There was a period in my life when I was really struggling emotionally, and I decided to seek help. I started seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist, and I was put on medication. Things improved a lot. After about a year, I decided it was time to stop taking the medication.

Overall, life has been going well, but recently I’ve noticed something concerning. I don’t really have desires or wants anymore, and I feel emotionally disconnected from things that used to matter to me. To be clear, things in my life are objectively good right now, which is what makes this feeling so confusing. I’ve been monitoring these feelings closely to see if they get worse.
