The bible says if you seek excessive and pointless indulgences and very intense emotional highs, you will always be poor, whether that poverty comes through a lack of income, or a lack of health, or a lack of peace, or a lack of respect, or a lack of friendship, or a lack of happiness, or a shortage of years on earth.
