Is public charity dangerous if Jesus says only secret giving is rewarded?

A lot of good intentioned Buddhists and Muslims are posting about their charitable acts online, and they do not know Jesus said that you do not get rewarded for your good deed when you brag about your good deeds to others.

It is sad to see so many good people help others, and then, lose their reward, because no Christian was around to warn them that only secret charity is rewarded by God.

I know that some charities sell their donor lists to other charities. You give to one and suddenly your phone is ringing off the hook with charities looking for a handout.

Jesus did say, regarding charitable giving, "Let not the right hand know what the left hand is doing." But influencers have to be seen to be doing whatever it is they do.
