The bible says that when you practice virtue signalling, God makes you ugly or weak, depending on the type of punishment he decides to give you.
You do not have to hide 100% of your virtue, because you do not want to present yourself to the world as a worthless psychopath with no conscience at all, but you should hide at least 60-95% of your virtue from the world, since the bible says God does not reward you for the virtue you have when you show off how virtuous you are.
The bible also says it is okay to talk about your good deeds if you have to talk about it to avoid offending others, so you can show some of your good qualities to others, but do not show all your good qualities to others.
Modesty is not secrecy, modesty, is limited honesty but not 100% concealment. Modesty might be 80% concealment or 90% concealment but it is not 100% concealment.

That’s a unique breakdown, but biblically, the core lesson about good deeds is intent. In Matthew 6, Jesus warns against doing good works specifically to be seen by others, because then public praise becomes your only reward. At the same time, Matthew 5 says to let your light shine so people see your good works and glorify God not yourself. It’s less about arbitrary percentages and more about keeping your humility intact and giving credit to God rather than seeking ego validation.
