In today's world, many people chase higher education to improve their intellectual level. It is not wrong.
They think if I have higher and better education, I will have better understanding, better life.
But, many of us forget that what makes people truly succeed in life is not just being smart intellectually, but having wisdom and good character and the most important thing is having the fear of God.
Nowadays, many people look down on faith in God, even make God a mockery. They think faith is not important, not needed.
God is treated as an illusion that is no longer relevant in today's world, only matters when we are near our death time.
Many people treat God like a genie, as a wish fulfiller. We look for God only when we want or need something, when we face difficulty or sickness.
But, when our prayer is not answered as our heart hopes for, we become bitter, blame God as the source of all suffering, and justify ourselves to do whatever we think is right, even though it is against what God wants us to do.
This is the contradiction of today's world. We proudly call ourselves self made, we flex our degree, our title, our followers, our healing journey, our self love, yet we are empty inside.
We build our life on validation, on achievement, on money, on people who can leave anytime, but not on God.
Everything we have without God in it is vanity.
Many people think life is short, so let us spend it however we want, while they forget the original purpose why God created us, which is to serve His purpose, not ours, to become His light in this world.

I've been a Christian for a couple decades but sometimes i feel like i've learned absolutely NOTHING in that time. Because i have a nasty habit of not praying to God until i really need him (i'm working on it). I feel like that terrible friend who comes around only when they need Jesus's help. I have a nasty habit of wanting to do things my way no matter how many times God taps me on the shoulder. Sometimes it's not until calamity that i finally listen. But i hope i'm learning each time.
Of course i know Christ is KING. Of course i know my soul is saved. But from there is where it gets to be not so simple to me. Because i do not feel my soul is convicted as much as it should be. I'm like Lot's wife. I look back rather than keeping focused on God as much as i should be. My lamp is not ready and full of oil for Christs return. I have trouble forgiving. And i KNOW this is just Satan decieving me. Telling me i'm not good enough. Trying to drive a wedge between God and I. But knowing i'm human and sinful by nature. Makes it hard for me to resist the sins of this world. I know it's the effort, the struggle that matters. And i know i have spiritual life because i do feel bad about it. But not bad enough to resist more like i should. And that makes me feel like too much i'm just going through the motions.
My mother died less than a year ago. I'm still grieving. She joins my father and sister in heaven. I know Heaven is a gift. None of us deserve it. It's God's grace that allows us to reach it. But though i want to see my mother, father, and sister, again one day. I REALLY do not feel i deserve it.
Sorry if i shared a little too much.
