Do you believe God uses rejection to protect us from harm?

I was watching a dating show on t. v. 27 years ago, and a man was trying to decide between two women, one was clearly more beautiful and virtuous than the other, and he cried rejecting the beautiful and virtuous woman saying he loved everything about her, but something about her just did not feel right.

And I learned from a later show filmed years later, that he was physically abusive with the woman he chose and became engaged to, and that she dumped him before the marriage was supposed to happen for them, and she choose another who had no money to his name but treated her with respect.

Maybe God made him reject the woman that was respectful and loyal, because God knew he was an abuser and God did not want him to abuse the woman that lived a religious and God-honouring life.

I can also recount more than one time in ny life where God would not let me date a guy I liked, and I would later learn the guy God would not let me date had moral flaws I did not know about when I first decided I liked them.

Everyone has flaws, but some flaws are so big, that not even a friendship or casual acknowledgement should be allowed with them.

Yes, I believe God can sometimes use rejection to protect us from things that aren't right for us. Even though rejection can be painful and difficult to understand at the time, I believe God has a plan for us and can use difficult experiences to guide us toward something better. We might not always understand why something happened straight away, but we can trust God and His plan.
